Context

Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, SBL is also the distributor of several global Diageo international renowned spirits brands such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Gordon’s, Bailey’s and Captain Morgan.

Purpose of Role:
  • To implement and co-ordinate the performance of the all Utilities activities in consultations with Engineering manager within the Operations Department.
Dimensions/ Financial:
  • Deliver business year NSV, AOP and Volume as outlined by Manager

Accountabilities:
  • Day to day direction and management to ensure effective functional effectiveness of all installed utilities plants and systems
  • Providing for a safe and healthy work environment through appropriate systems to monitor and mitigate against workplace risks
  • Providing for effective management of plant and equipment maintenance through an effective planned maintenance system
  • Development and maintenance of effective Utilities Plant maintenance plans to guarantee serviceability and proper asset care, plant availability and efficient operations
  • Involvement in the evolution of Utilities Capex proposals and monitoring implementation to ensure the adherence to company engineering policies, fitness for purpose, provision of spares and training of maintenance personnel, integration with existing installations and compliance with EHS requirements
  • Establish and maintain formal environmental and Occupational effective management and continual improvement.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Graduate degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Diploma with 4 years experience in relevant filed.
  • Training on Environment and OHS law and management.
  • 4 Years experience in Brewing and Processing.
  • In-depth knowledge of Utilities Plants
  • Process auditing skills.

Packaging Team Leader
Location: Mwanza, Tanzania
Job Description:
Reports To: Packaging Manager
Purpose of Role
Support SBL to achieve its packaging set targets by implementing packaging activities including maintenance so as to deliver target packaged volumes to match sales forecast and ensure packaging quality is maintained at all times.
This role will have a team of technical operators reporting into it and will also work closely with the rest of the supply team in order to ensure smooth running of the packaging line.

Top Accountabilities
  • Co-ordinate all packaging activities, products, materials, sundry items, components and services efficiently as well as manage packaging empties and fulls warehouses in such a manner as to avoid waste and pilferage.
  • Deliver performance in Safety systems within packaging department and ensure safety of the environment in packaging department.
  • Implement overhaul and maintenance programmes with the Packaging Engineers ensuring that quality and engineering standards are met

Qualifications and experience required
  • Bsc. or Diploma in Science/Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical & Processing) or any other relevant field
  • Diploma in Brewing and/or AME Diploma from IGB highly preferable
  • Atleast four (4) years experience with two (2) years management experience in a Brewing or Packaging Industry.
  • Experience in food or drink manufacturing environment, management of people performance and development and Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety in the food or drink manufacturing industry.

Job Description:

Context/Scope:

Scope of the role
The role is to develop brilliant Integrated Business plans for the country and in the clusters that exist. To champion and drive excellent execution of the plans and actively support business performance in close collaboration with key Diageo stakeholders and distributor teams.

Purpose of Role
To implement and execute the Game Plan (s) and activities to deliver NSV, AOP and volumes per plan and achieve excellent cooperation with the Consumer Marketing team and the rest of the Customer Marketing and Route to Customer teams.

b) Leadership Responsibilities and Decision Making Rights
Executing and implementing all set Game Plan (s) for the brand (s) in order to build brand awareness in the market place and NSV, AOP and volumes as the per plan.

Accountabilities: Implement and Execute Game Plan(s)
  • Translate Game plan (s) into activity plans and schedules in consultation with the Marketing Manager and taking into consideration the customer and market insights and the overall Brand Game Plan strategy
  • Implement agreed activities, launches and promotional campaigns as per the approved schedule.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate own performance against the set implementation plan and targets.
  • Continuously come up with new ideas that contribute to the growth of the segment and share these with the Marketing Manager and other team members.
  • Assist in the development in the annual Game Plan(s) for the brand (s)

Budget tracking and information management:
  • Develop activity budgets that are in conformity with Game Plan Brand(s) Budget, in consultation with the Marketing Manager.
  • Track expenditure against the approved budget and highlight problem areas for action.
  • Prepare and submit expenditure reports to the Marketing Manager.
  • Maintain information and documentation for the brand (s)

Work with suppliers:
  • Develop agency/supplier briefs for assigned activities, in consultation with the Marketing Manager.
  • Brief agencies/suppliers
  • Monitor performance against the brief and highlight shortcomings for action.
  • Co-ordinate the resolution of supplier complaints/problems including payment queries.

Qualifications and experience required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Certificate in sales and marketing will be an added advantage.
  • At least 4 years proven successful commercial experience in the Telecommunications Industry or FMCG environment
