Responsibilities 

  • Operation of the specific circuit of the plant within the specified range of parameters based on metallurgical guidance.
  • Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.

  • Hourly/shift samples collection and submission.

Experience and competencies needed.

  • 1- Year and above in Process operation experience in mineral processing.
  • 2 -Years – Process plant operation experience.
  • 2 -Years and above experience with chemical and reagent handling and mixing.
  • 2 –Years and above experience with Mobile equipment operations will be added advantage.
  • 2-Years and above experience with TSF operations
  • 2-Years and above experience in Poly-welding.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance to All Barrick’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates all efforts through the Accountable Executive for an aligned approach to tailings governance for the Operator.
  • Implementing the Tailing Management Standard (TMS) (Section 2.3).
  • Establishing the input from appropriate personnel, a budget for approval by the Accountable Executive or persons with delegated budget authority.
  • Establish a formal relationship with the EOR and Design Team to ensure that construction and operation meet the design intent and are compliant with legal requirements (Sections 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6).
  • Ensure surveillance is undertaken in accordance with design intent, performance objectives and the risk management plan (Section 2.4).
  • Ensure the development of the tailing’s facility closure plan, implementation of progressive reclamation as practicable during the Operations phase, and implementation of the closure plan at the end of the Operations phase (Section 3.7).
  • Maintain records related to design, construction, and OMS (Section 2.5).
  • Ensure inspections (e.g. dam safety inspections or DSRs) are completed (Section 2.6).
  • Review and update the OMS manual (Section 2.4).
  • Ensure that emergency response plans are developed, maintained, and tested, either as stand-alone plans or as components of sitewide emergency response plans directly related to tailings management (Section 2.7).
  • Implement measures to remedy variances from performance objectives or criteria (Section 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7).
  • Implement a program for reviewing tailings safety, including Independent Review (Section 2.6).
  • Identify when/where contemplated operational changes are a potential deviation from the design intent and engage the EOR or Design Team as part of the process to manage change (Sections 2.3, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7).
  • Participate in or provide input to community engagement activities related to tailings management (Section 2.2.5).
  • Review and update documentation on operation and design of dam.
  • Search for improved efficiency in the civil earthworks undertaken on the dam.
  • Monitor the results of the Vibrating Wire Piezometers installed on the dam.

Qualification requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Process Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of soil structural characteristics and methods of testing compaction and consolidation.

Experience and competencies needed.

  • Minimum of One (1) year on job/training experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

  • VETA Driving Certificate.

  • Responsible of gravity, CIL and Milling circuit optimization (operation and maintain of critical spare records).
  • Assisting on monthly metallurgical accounting and reconciliations.
  • Metallurgical test work planning and execution, analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Maintaining and optimizing the on-stream analyzers’ WAD and TAC.
  • Maintain the standard and performance of Automatic samplers in the plant.
  • Assist other metallurgical and operational personnel as required.
  • Conducts and participates in audits, reviews and quality assurance activities associated with managing operational and metallurgical functions.
  • Contributing to monthly, quarterly and annual consumables budget and forecast planning for all met lab consumables.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Plant Metallurgist or Senior Metallurgist

Qualification requirements

  • Should be a graduate of 2022 and 2023.
  • Degree in Mineral Process Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering
  • Computer literacy is essential- Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, (SAP, Valid Driving License).
  • Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness.

Experience and competencies needed.

  • Familiar with a variety of the metallurgical field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Minimum practical training or Field Experience in gold processing.
  • Familiar with SOPs the gold plant processing.
  • Fundamental of Business Improvement.
  • Metallurgical Sample collection, submission and Test work
  • Experience with communication and documentation management.
  • Experience with computer application and software skills – Excel.
