PROCUREMENT LEAD-KABANGA

Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Procurement Lead to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is based at Kabanga site. The successful candidate will be accountable in managing Demand Planning, Procurement, and Logistics of various materials required for Tembo Nickel Project. The successful candidate will play a key role in liaising with the Mining Commission and ensuring compliance with Local Content regulations. This role will report to the Procurement Manager and will work on 6/3 roster.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support of field construction teams related to complex equipment needs and tight project schedules.
  • In conjunction with other stakeholders, define business rules relating to demand management and to effectively implement these for improved supply and cost.
  • To drive the demand planning process at the Mine and Refinery sites to ensure that exceptions in demand are communicated effectively and that the required decisions are made to manage the change in demand with minimal impact on the Construction Schedules.
  • To monitor suppliers’ technical quality, delivery and financial performance.
  • To identify and implement opportunities for reduction in lead time and inventory for total cost reduction in Supply Chain of the Mine.
  • All items are procured and expedited effectively to reach the mine on time Work with Community Relations to assess and develop Local Enterprises.
  • To take part in identifying cost saving opportunities and work with suppliers to reduce material costs.
  • To take place in tender evaluation committee as a commercial member.
  • To effectively implement contactors scorecard review meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain and Logistics management
  • PSPTB certification is a MUST.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5 Years of work experience in Supply Chain and Logistics Management with at least 2 years in demand management/lnventory management role

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent working and demonstrated knowledge of ERP/PRONTO systems and MRP.
  • Business acumen and excellent work ethics,

Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit Safety Administrator to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is based at Kabanga Site. The Safety Administrator will be responsible in providing general administration and support to the health and safety team, including but not limited to the overall operations of the OHS department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute developed environmental management plans, programs, and strategies on site.
  • Plan environmental projects and provide reports on status and outcomes.
  • Prepare written reports as required, briefs for projects and or services, strategies, policies, and management plans.
  • Assist in the coordination of field personnel to ensure works are completed to specified standards.
  • Provide technical input into the development of environmental policies, guidelines, and procedures for Tembo Nickel.

  • Ensure monitoring programs of air quality, water quality, noise 8c vibration, meteorological, soil and biodiversity are maintained and undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of information and training of environmental management aspects for all employees.
  • Provide input to Environmental Lead into the development of environmental quality standards, guidelines, objectives, policies, procedures and/or legislation.
  • Carryout inspections, conduct investigations, resolve conflict, and take appropriate action.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or Environmental Engineering or related discipline. Master’s degree in science/Environment is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in environmental management role in a large-scale operation preferably in the mining and extractive industry. Experience in the application of EHS management systems.
  • Knowledge on IS014001EMS implementation process
  • Good understanding of Audit/EMS management systems
  • Knowledge of NEMC registrations for Audit and EIA

ERT OFFICER-KABANGA

Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit an Emergence Response Team officer to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is based at Kabanga site. The ERT Officer ensures provision of emergency response leadership, leads the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to the rescue event, and provide basic training related to evacuation plan, emergency exits, and ERT training.

  • Ensure total compliance/adherence to all safety, occupational health, and safety policies and procedures as well as policies and procedures, and guidelines.
  • Follow work schedules to maximize efficiency, taking into consideration roles and responsibilities in cooperation with other team members.
  • Responsible for incidents, including natural disasters (Fire and water rescue), and assess the situation to determine the level of response required and assist with any other accident/incident onsite and offsite.
  • Identify all unsafe acts, situations, and hazards within ERT training and real emergency.
  • Ensure all fire equipment inspection and rescue, ensure fire extinguishers are properly inspected, and update records on the register.
  • Contribute and support the scheduled ERT training.
  • Conduct training of Emergence team members
  • Carry out an inspection of the airstrip and ensure the landing and take-off happen according to the timetable.
  • Provide basic training related to Evacuation Plans, emergency exits, and PPEs to employees, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Act as duty officer as part of a 24-hour duty system, responding to emergency situations as they arise.
  • Perform related duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisors or Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate/ in Emergency Management
  • NOSCHI and II – OSHA Tanzania
  • Industry Fire Training
  • Rescue Certificates on BG4, Fire Rescue, Rope Rescue, Hazmat, SCBA, and Vehicle extrication
  • Evidence in heat tolerance and workload training.
  • Mine Health & Safety Act awareness.
  • A Valid Tanzania Driving License.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4-5 experience in Mining operations, Processing, and Construction
  • Experience in attending Aviation Activities
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in facilitating training courses, BG4, BA open circuit, use of Fire equipment, lifter bags, and vehicle extrication.

SAFETY OFFICERS-KABANGA (3)

Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit Safety Officers to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is based at Kabanga site. The safety officers will work to ensure provision of service and support to employees and supervisors in respective departments across Tembo Nickel Project regarding employees’ Health and Safety in the workplace. Supporting TNCL operations to ensure that safety objectives are aligned with the business plans and that all safety programs are in accordance with organization standards and legislative requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence change whilst developing a positive safety culture.
  • Provide support and guidance to Safety Representatives.
  • Conduct on job coaching and training to employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices.
  • Conduct scheduled weekly and monthly Safety meetings.
  • Detail knowledge of establishing and implementing ISO 45001:2018 management system.
  • Participate in the review of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and audits as required.
  • Assist in incident and accident investigations.
  • Monitor and follow up on incident investigation recommendations to ensure actions are completed and implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Tanzanian Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Correct and report safety hazards when observed.
  • Assisting with the facilitation of formal risk assessments.
  • Understanding of related department activities and managing their impact on the safety programs Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in health and safety management or equivalent from a Tanzanian or internationally recognized institution.
  • ISO 45001:2018 OHS Management system certification.
  • Formal Training Qualification in Risk Management, Accident Investigations, and Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Tanzania OSHA-NOSCH I& II.
  • 3 – 4 years’ experience in Safety Practice in Mining, Processing, or Maintenance disciplines. Construction experience is an added advantage.
  • A Valid Tanzania Driving License.
