Job Purpose:
Responsible for making sure all scheme’s accounts are properly reconciled to avoid loss in revenue; including cost saving initiatives and analysis of customer behavior to maximize income while putting controls in place.
  • Check accuracy of data input by branches for deposits on credit/prepaid cards accounts and make appropriate adjustments according to internal procedures and guidelines.
  • Reconcile accounts on a timely basis to provide account balances to cards management, accountancy and audit.
  • Reconcile the general ledgers to consolidate cards’ revenues and expenses for profitability reporting and take corrective actions within reasonable time.
  • Review all invoices raised by vendors/card schemes dealing with card business and initiate payments.
  • Data analysis of networks fees, cards revenues and expenses.
  • Analysis of customer behaviour to identify new sources of revenue.
  • Ensure accuracy of card business dashboard for performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for business case on new and revamped products in the cards industry.
  • Monitor internal accounts to follow up targeted cards income and to identify abnormal losses and expenses.
  • Guarantee compliance with networks operations rules and regulations to avoid any penalty charges.
  • Prepare reports for NMB Management Team, BOT, QOC and QMR for Visa and MasterCard respectively and submit them on time as per guidelines provided by the bank and card schemes.
  • Master the accounting entries and profitability of cards projects.
  • Looking at profitability as per different business line and product.
  • Provide support to the settlement and dispute teams.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of Banking operations and scheme card products.
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
  • Advanced user of Power Point, Excel programs and reconciliation tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Business Administration, Banking, Accounting.
  • CPA certification or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ banking experience preferred in card business.

Job Purpose:
To align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on HR related issues.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the zone’s financial position, midterm plans, its culture and competition
  • Partner with business to develop workforce planning and strategies
  • Provide guidance to business leaders in interpretation and execution of people agenda
  • Identification and Monitoring of talents and management of succession planning

Reconciliation Analyst. (1 Position(s))

Job Purpose:
Be responsible for performing reconciliation of mobile transactions and ensuring customer refunds are completed in a timely manner. Ensure all balances are reconciled and differences settled with Bank of Tanzania, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) or other financial service providers.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct periodic global reconciliations and on demand basis of all balances with MNOs/BOT TIPS and ensure all differences are identified and reconciled within the agreed timeframes.
  • Manage daily transactions reconciliation with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and other stakeholders to ensure reports are shared as per agreed SLAs and exceptions settled in a timely manner.
  • Supervise processing of mobile banking reconciliation and ensure all reconciliation jobs are accurately processed and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare vouchers for customer refunds and other reversals of mobile banking transactions; ensure entries are posted in a timely manner as per agreed SLA.
  • Prepare vouchers showing computation of monthly commission including all relevant taxes, ensure commission entries are posted in a timely manner as per agreed SLA.
  • Prepare daily mobile banking status/summary reports showing successful, failed (reversed/refunded) and auto reversed transactions.
  • Assist the line manager to prepare periodic (Risk and Compliance Committee and Managements reports) and on demand status/ summary reports for internal circulation
  • Analyze trends/performance of mobile transactions to identify any technical hitches that require immediate attention from the technical team.
  • Ensure timely and authentic escalation of all issues requiring attention of Line Manager and/or Head of Department
  • Ensure issues/queries received from Customer Experience and internal customers through NMB Cure are resolved within the agreed turn-around-time (TAT)
  • Keep custody of reconciliation reports and refund/reversal vouchers to ensure there is an audit trail
  • Participate in Mobile Banking projects/new products conception as may be deemed necessary
  • Initiate weekly or Monthly team meetings and drive actions for closure of all issues raised.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of Reconciliation and Banking Operations processes, risks and controls.

Job Purpose:
Responsible for growing both Chinese portfolio of Liabilities (Deposits) and Assets from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), advising the Business Banking department on business strategy, assisting SME Business Bankers /Relationship Officers/Branch Managers in recruiting business customers to ensure SME business growth.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Actively selling SME deposits, lending, and cross selling of other banks products to Chinese clients (Forex, Fund Transfer, Internet Banking etc.)
  • Appraise Chinese SME credit applications above the SME Business Banker limit from branches and provide recommendations for decision making
  • Take a leading role in driving Chinese SME activity, through networking and promoting SME activity with SME Relationship officers and branch managers.
  • Actively build the capacity of the SME Business Bankers through on-going mentoring and support to ensure quality credit application and Business Growth.
  • Monitor and review the SME Business Bankers performance to ensure that the targets are met.
  • Review with Relationship Officer client feedback, market intelligence, workshops/focus group reports and review product design and performance to establish if change, redesign, or re-launch is appropriate.
  • Co-ordinate budget objectives of the responsibility area on the SME products to ensure targets are achieved as per approved budget.
  • Ensure that customer satisfaction for the SME is achieved by providing accurate advice for selling in line with customers’ expectations.
  • Preparing budget and projections for the SME loan and deposit products. The budget to include the list of existing, prospective, and potential customers to benefit from the loan and deposit products
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Credit analysis skills.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
  • Sound understanding of the bank’s loan products, policies, and procedures
  • Good understanding of Chinese Culture
  • Conversant with standard computer applications (Excel, Word, and Access).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with Chinese customers or managing Chinese clients is a must
