Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an Inventory Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate for this position is expected to align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within his team and the business and on a practical note the position require for an analytical individual who understand the business requirements and apply inventory data analysis for inventory control.

Reporting to: Demand and supply Superintendent

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Execute Cycle Counting and Periodic Stock take program in line with corporate requirement
  • Ensure that all activities prior to and after stock count are completed in time.
  • Ensure that all stock variances are investigated and the corrective actions are implemented to address the root cause in collaboration with Cycle Count Supervisor
  • Ensure all stock data is submitted to the system for approval as per DOA
  • Implements a system audit to verify that all transactions related to adjustments made are entered without exceptions.
  • Reviews and provides information for reconciliations between Finance and Warehouse
  • Executes Quarterly Obsolete and Slow Moving Inventory(OSMI) reviews in collaboration with end users
  • Timely establishment of re-order point, re-order quantity and release of items to be re-ordered on the re-order system to replenish inventory
  • Timely reconciliation of bulk and vendor held inventory consumed and preparation of reconciliation reports that will facilitate payments of vendors in the respective period
  • To resolve supplier specification queries through the Buyer
  • To create and maintain good relationships with end-users (customers) and to respond to customer queries on time
  • Reconciliation and management of vendor transactions for the Vendor Managed Inventory
  • Run MRP, review exceptions and evaluate their impacts to stock/orders and agree on appropriate actions
  • Prepare a document for MRP discussions, exceptions and actions, and present it for approval by the Demand and Supply Superintendent
  • Ensures Compliance to all Company Safety and SOX rules, policies and procedures.

Experience Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of the sampling programs and data collection for water quality, air quality, noise & vibration, meteorological
  • Gather monthly HSEC/Sustainability data from all departments, compile the spreadsheet reports and complete QA/QC for the data
  • Collect data and information for hydrogeological and geochemical studies and monitoring activities
  • Conduct quarterly water sampling & microbiological tests for potable water
  • Proper use and up keeping of the site environmental laboratory
  • Update and transfer monitoring data in appropriate databases and undertake QAQC
  • Maintain the sitewide chemical register, update the register of expired chemicals
  • Conduct quarterly hazardous material inspections
  • Maintain the calibration of all monitoring equipment
  • Capture all monitoring information in GIS
  • Undertake tasks related other environmental programs at the mine including rehabilitation, waste and hazardous material management; and vector control
  • Collect data and information for biodiversity and rehabilitation monitoring
  • Participate in the implementation of ISO14001 EMS, undertake weekly inspections of departments and contractors and produce reports
  • Follow up of environmental actions at the assigned department to ensure continual improvement
  • Compile data for the sitewide environmental reports – weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual environmental monitoring reports
  • Oversee and supervise the activities of the field technicians and waste management operators.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Management ,Environmental chemistry or related field from reputable University
  • Professional registration with NEMC as Environmental Expert (EIA and Auditing) is an added advantage
  • Computer literacy is essential – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. The use of GIS and other specialized software’s for environmental management will be an added advantage

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in environmental management in the extractive industry
  • Understanding of the ISO 14001 certified environmental management system
  • Experience and ability to work long hours in a remote site environment will be an added advantage

Reporting to: Fuel and Lubricants Supervisor

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Fuel and Lubricant receipt and issue

  • Ensures that suppliers and forwarders meet their commitment in terms of providing management reports, daily, weekly or monthly as required
  • Ensures that the tracking reports are available, accurate and up-to-date each time
  • Collects information relating to the status of Critical orders and communicates the same to End users through integrated meetings
  • Prepares requests for shipping by airfreight for approval in accordance with the procedures

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Technical and Capital Officer to join our team. The successful candidate for this position is expected to align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within his team and the business and on a practical note the position require to clarify technical specifications with the end users. Identify and recommend source of supply for stock, not-stock and capital items. And advise supply chain on all issues related to technical requirements.

Reporting to: Demand and supply Superintendent

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Develop and manage demand plan for capital materials and equipment requirement in collaboration with end users and projects team
  • Evaluate all once-off engineering/capital item RFQs to ensure that there is no similar item and establish if it should be a stock item.
  • Interact with potential suppliers for capital equipment to correctly specify the item and finalise item specifications
  • Document all necessary information that will clearly define the specification to the procurement partner with the recommended suppliers.
  • In collaboration with logistics expedite all capital purchased items and ensure quality controls.
  • Undertake review role for all changes proposed to existing stock items or new items by end users to ensure that there is cost benefit and that there is a phase out plan
  • On receiving engineering/capital item ensure that the item complies with specification
  • Investigate all non-conformances and ensure corrective action is taken
  • Maintain all the information related to no-stock items on ERP System
  • Validate progress for milestone payments for capital items
  • Ensure proper long term maintenance/storage procedure for technical stock items
  • Work with Mining, Engineering and Capital projects to clearly specify requirements and build clear specifications and descriptions on ERP system
  • To create and maintain good relationships with end-users (customers) and to respond to customer queries on time

  • To carry out day to day warehouse receiving operations aimed at receiving and binning the right quantity and right quality of materials delivered at the Mine Central Warehouse
  • Take responsibility for the safe operation of all Forklifts and other required material handling equipment
  • Ensure warehouse housekeeping and all activities are carried out to a standard that is conducive to ensuring an injury free workplace
