Gaming Board of Tanzania is a regulatory body established under the Gaming Act No. 4 of 2003. Its main functions are to oversee, monitor, and regulate the conduct of gaming activities in Tanzania.

The Board is seeking to recruit qualified and competent Tanzanians for the following posts below:
SYSTEMS INTERNAL AUDITOR (2 POSTS) Appointed by: Management Appointment Committee Reports to: Chief Internal Auditor
ENTRY QUALIFICATION

  • Holder of first Degree in Information Technology. Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Possession of CISA and/or CISM certification is an added advantage Duties
  • To assess impact of audit control and risk management environment
  • To prepare reports on different topics in audit as instructed
  • To prepare working papers
  • To manage and keep audit files and other relevant information
  • To participate in annual stock taking and fixed assets verification
  • To provide support in the undertakings of all audit functions
  • To undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (1 POST)
Appointed by: Management Appointment Committee
Reports to: Information and Communication Technology Manager
Entry Qualifications
Holder of first Degree in Information Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification
Possession of Cisco. Microsoft or/and CompTIA certification is an added advantage

Duties:
  • Analyses designs, develop and maintain software packages and application systems for Gaming Board.
  • Administer Information Systems to ensure their proper functioning and help users to understand operations of such systems
  • Develops, adopts and supports user friendly interfaces to computer systems
  • Carrying out diagnosis and troubleshooting of Information Systems of Gaming Board
  • Appraises business systems performance and provide appropriate recommendations
  • Supervises servicing and maintenance of computers and respective accessories
  • Creates backup for business operations and ensures that contingency measures are up to date and functioning in accordance with Gaming Board ICT policy
  • Establishes and maintains database as may be required by users
  • Supporting and training other staff on various systems Performs other relevant duties as may be assigned by
SYSTEMS GAMING INSPECTOR (1 POST)
Appointed by:
Management Appointment Committee
Reports to: Inspection and Compliance Manager
Entry Qualifications
Holder of first Degree in Information Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification
Possession of Cisco. Microsoft or/and CompTIA certification is an added advantage

Duties:
  • Conducts periodic inspection of licensed operations to assess compliance with the gaming
  • Conduct inspections of prospective gaming premises to determine suitability for gaming operations.
  • Prepare timely inspection reports on inspected gaming
  • Conducts verification on the accuracy of all returns received by GBT from gaming operators.
  • Conducts supervision of gaming draws to ensure compliance with the gaming legislation or Guidelines issued by GBT.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliation of information and data on the conduct and outcome of lottery operations.
  • Develops and maintains database of gaming devices and other relevant information.
  • Monitors performance of licensees and their compliance with gaming legislation
  • Undertakes any other relevant duties as may be assigned by supervisors from time to time.

PRINCIPAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (1 POST)
Appointed by: Management Appointment Committee
Reports to: Information and Communication Technology Manager Entry Qualifications
Holder of Master’s Degree in Information Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification with at least six years of relevant working experience in a reputable institution
Good pass in Mathematics in Form 4 and Form 6 will be added advantage
Possession of recognized ICT professional certification is an added advantage

Duties:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Gaming Board ICT Policy.
  • Plans and establishes ICT functional systems suitable for Gaming Board activities.
  • Plans and organizes in house training for staff of Gaming Board on effective and efficient use of computer resources and ensure continued ICT capacity building for all staff.
  • Performs other relevant duties as may be assigned by supervisors from time to time
  • At least 10 years of hands in various software languages such as PHP. Java. C/C++, .NET and Python will be added advantage
  • Completed at least 5 information system projects (not websites) under his/her supervisor
  • Practical skills on Object Oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)
  • Advanced knowledge in RESTful and SOAP APIs, Queue Management. SMS Gateway. SMPP Knowledge. Data Visualization, Database Optimization, and Smartphone App Development using iOS, Android will be added advantage
