HelpAge Tanzania (HAT) is a national non-governmental organisation registered in Tanzania Mainland under the Non-Governmental Organisations Act of 2022 and compliant in Zanzibar under the Business Entities Registration Act No. 12 of 2012.

HAT envisions a society of equal opportunities where older people and persons with disabilities are empowered, protected, healthy, and able to live with dignity. HAT works in partnership with Older People’s Forums, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), government institutions, UN agencies, humanitarian and development partners across Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.

HelpAge Tanzania is seeking to recruit qualified, competent, and motivated candidate to fill the following positions:

1.                   Administration and Humanitarian Programme Manager – Gender and Inclusion (AHGIPM)

Duty Station: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania  Job Purpose:

The Administration and Humanitarian, Gender and Inclusion Programme Manager (AHGIPM) provide strategic leadership for organisational administration and for the design, implementation, and quality assurance of humanitarian and development programmes, ensuring systematic integration of gender equality, disability inclusion, safeguarding, and disaster preparedness.

The post holder serves as HAT’s Gender and Disaster Preparedness Focal Person at senior level, responsible for strengthening gender-responsive, inclusive, and riskinformed preparedness, emergency response, recovery, and resilience programming across the organisation.

2.  Health and Care Programme Manager (HCPM)

Duty Station: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania  Job Purpose:

The Health and Care Programme Manager provide strategic leadership, technical oversight, and overall management of HAT’s Health and Care portfolio. The role ensures high-quality, inclusive, and person-centred health and care programming for older women and men and persons with disabilities, in line with HAT’s policies, values, and strategic frameworks.

The postholder is responsible for effective programme design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and compliance with donor requirements. The role is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) in Tanzania and contributes to organisational strategy, advocacy, and resource mobilisation.

3.  Integrated Care Nurse (ICN)

Duty Station: Kigoma region, Tanzania   Job Purpose:

The Integrated Care Nurse (ICN) is responsible for delivering person-centred, holistic, and integrated care services to older people, persons with disabilities, people with serious or chronic medical conditions, unaccompanied and separated children, and other marginalized People with Specific Needs (PSNs) in Nduta and Nyarugusu refugee camps.

The role focuses on improving quality of life, functional ability, comfort, dignity, and psychosocial wellbeing, through preventive, curative, rehabilitative, supportive, and endof-life care, as appropriate, within a humanitarian context. The ICN works closely with health facilities, protection teams, community structures, and humanitarian partners to ensure coordinated and continuous care.

4.  Senior Protection and Inclusion Officer (SPIO)

Duty Station: Kigoma Region, Tanzania  Job Purpose:

The Senior Protection and Inclusion Officer (SPIO) is responsible for the design, planning, implementation, management, and administration of HelpAge Tanzania’s inclusive humanitarian and protection programmes in refugee camps and host communities in Kigoma Region.

The post holder will provide strategic leadership on protection and inclusion of People with Specific Needs (PSNs), particularly older people and persons with disabilities, and will actively engage national and international humanitarian actors to strengthen inclusive humanitarian responses. The SPIO will also build the capacity of national staff and local implementing partners to ensure sustainability of inclusive humanitarian programming.

The SPIO is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and will participate actively in management, strategic planning, and organisational decision-making processes.

Person Specification (Summary) Education and Qualifications

  • Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree depending on the position, in fields such as Gender Studies, Development Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Disaster Risk Management, Medical Doctor or Public Health, nursing, social sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Disaster/Conflict Management, or other related fields.
  • Valid professional registration where applicable (for nursing and health-related roles).

  • Relevant professional     experience       in               humanitarian and/or               development programming.
  • Strong understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, safeguarding, and protection principles.
  • Experience working with NGOs/INGOs and community-based structures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to HelpAge Tanzania values.
