The Key Purpose of this role is to load, unload and stack Company products in a safe and productive manner, operate & maintain a forklift truck, ensure a safe, healthy & risk-free working environment, work in teams to achieve agreed KPI’s and goals.​

Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

Effective Fleet management:

  • Conduct pre-trip inspections prior to the start of each shift using the forklift inspection checklist
  • Ensure that the forklift is operated and maintained in optimal condition
  • Ensure that fuel and fluids are at accepted operating levels

Adherence to the health, safety and environmental standards:

  • Department of Labour stacking exemptions complied with Site housekeeping standards maintained and adhered to
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment used as designated by site safety standards

Effective stock quality management:

  • Warehouse stock age standards maintained by ensuring stock rotation principles applied
  • Ensures quality control through checking packaging on warehouse floor and prior to loading
  • Effective inventory management
  • Participation in handover process before and after every shift
  • Accurate daily stock count performed using handheld device
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with Inventory Manager, Controller and Supervisor
  • Accurate checking, loading and unloading of vehicles
  • Load Summary used to load correct quantities of split and full pallets
  • Accurate recording of returns on handheld device prior to unloading

Efficient loading and unloading of vehicles:

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with Logistic Coordinator / team members
  • All documentation accurately and comprehensively completed
  • Ensure production continuity (where applicable)
  • Load empties and raw materials onto production lines whilst ensuring optimal productivity
  • Remove and stack finished product from line to bin whilst ensuring optimal line productivity
  • Conversant with relevant business information, policies, processes and procedures

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Good abilities to read, write and count
  • No back problems (physically fit and healthy) and good eyesight ​
  • Excellent communication skills ​
  • Good verbal ability in English ​
  • Good eyesight in both eyes
  • ​Excellent Numeracy skills

Read Also:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Upper Secondary Education Certificate
  • Valid forklift driver’s license
  • Must be certified as competent FLT Driver via a certified body​

The key purpose of this role is to count, check & verify, dispatch & receive loads, by physically checking/verifying the stocks loaded/ offloaded. Process and reconcile all Digital or Manual Invoices, process POS payment activities, adhere to stock master processes & actively participating in the Operations safety, Inventory Management & control routines.

Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

Adherence to the health, safety and environmental standards:

  • 5S & Site housekeeping standards maintained and adhered to
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment used as designated by site safety standards
  • Comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements
  • Report and act on non-conformities on the respective platforms

Effective stock quality management:

  • Warehouse stock age standards maintained by ensuring stock rotation principles applied – FEFO
  • Ensures quality control through checking packaging on warehouse floor and prior to loading
  • Effective inventory management & controls in line with our governance policies
  • Accurate daily stock count performed using handheld device
  • Generate variance reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with Inventory teams, Warehouse teams and other stakeholders

Efficient loading and unloading of vehicles and production lines:

  • Maintain clear and effective communication regarding the load plan execution with stakeholders, Commercial, Credit, Inventory, Logistics teams
  • All documentation accurately and comprehensively verified and completed
  • Primary and secondary distribution load plans are printed, uploaded, reviewed and signed by the Picker (if applicable), Operator (Mandatory), Driver (mandatory) and Security (Mandatory),
  • Process all internal stock movements (Transfers, Breakages and Issues) on ERP system in line with the documentation.
  • Accurate checking, loading and unloading of vehicles.  Perform actual count on trucks to confirm quantities
  • Accurate recording of returns prior to unloading
  • Actively participate on the process of stock deviations investigations and propose improvement and mitigation actions
  • Conversant with relevant business information, policies, processes and procedures

Reports:

  • Accurately capture and update the beer age & FIFO/FEFO compliance tracker;
  • Actively & report monitor Digital journey & stock master usage/ adherence;
  • Compile and track adherence to Full pallet check report and update the BIT/Refusals daily
  • Ensure POS reports are accurate and complete

Key Role Purpose:

The key purpose of this role is to safely operate and maintain defined Technical Services Plants and related processes in order to achieve optimal effectiveness​.

Key outputs and responsibilities:

  • Operating equipment’s/ plant in Technical Services process areas according to VPO Standards ​

Plant and Process

  • Optimize Plant & Process Performance where appropriate​
  • Operate the Technical Services Plant and Process​
  • Provide Utilities to Departments as per required standards
  • Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices
  • Unsafe work practices must be identified and corrected.​
  • Support the creation (drafting and documenting) of standard work procedures (including quick fix routines and problem solving)

Quality control and analysis

  • Carry out the required quality +checks and analyses, and recording the results on the appropriate information system
  • Where quality problems have arisen, apply the appropriate problem-solving techniques (e.g. 5 WHY, Quick fix routines) ​
  • Escalate any identified or unresolved problems to Line Manager

Communication

  • Actively participate in meetings and PI reviews.​
  • Fully understanding the team goals and participating in team goal review sessions.​
  • Making use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues.​
  • Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality​
  • Complete autonomous operations tasks problem-solving activities​

Read Also:

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Training: Min – 9 months on the job training
  • Experience within FMCG industry​ will be an added advantage
  • Understanding of VPO principles
