Senior Manager, Trade Finance at DCB Commercial Bank

We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Senior Manager, Trade Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing trade finance income and ensure a high-quality portfolio across commercial and retail businesses clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Structuring working capital solutions and sell trade solutions to new and existing customers within commercial banking.
• Identifying and converting opportunities in major government projects and provide solutions to contractors and suppliers.
• Providing support for approvals for concessionary pricing of both funded and non-funded trade finance products to business units and operations.
• Working with branch and segment managers to develop sales pipelines of trade related business in line with overall commercial growth strategy.
• Regularly identify, measure, monitor and control the overall levels of risks in the Trade Finance business, including developing RCSA,
• Periodically reviewing and support in development of structured trade finance procedures and processes to mitigate inherent risks using a solid understanding of the working capital cash conversion cycle.
• Ensuring that the target market selection criterion is adhered to and that the bank is in full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML), DCB policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Collecting data, analyzing and reporting on trade finance needs in the market, competitors’ value propositions, economic trends to assist in product/service development.
• Training branch staff on client handling and products features to ensure seamless service provision.
• Preparing and submitting to Chief Manager, Commercial monthly work plans and periodic performance reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business related field; or Bachelor’s degree in any field with a Master’s degree in business administration.
• Eight years’ experience in the banking business, three of which should be in trade operations relating to guarantees, import and export letters of credit.
• In-depth knowledge of the local banking industry, banking products, banking services and banking regulations.
• High attention to details, and the ability to multi-task and work independently. Excellent selling, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills i.e. written and presenting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing retain banking business strategy and tactical plans, in line with the market opportunity/growth potential, competitor activity, existing capabilities, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
• Leading teams at branches and workplace banking segments achieve set targets in sales growth, income distribution, management of impairment and client experience.
• Identifying growth opportunities and working with the marketing and product development teams design and launch products/services that are customised to clients’ need; and monitor their performance.
• Reviewing existing policies, operational systems, procedures and ensure strong internal controls and high levels of compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Updating and maintaining risk procedures and systems with respect to risk identification, risk assessment, risk•monitoring, risk mitigation strategies and risk reporting.
• Developing and sustaining effective business relationships with clients and other stakeholders; and maintaining visible, active and positive presence in the market
• Creating a service culture within the branches and ensure adherence to the service standards and that all staff observe internal and external TATs and SLAs.
• Managing function, branch network and staff performance including operational efficiency, growth targets, budget, net promoter score and staff engagement

The successful candidate will be responsible for growing a strong customer and deposit base by acquiring new-to-bank high net worth (HNW) individuals in the market, and expanding portfolio of the bank NHW clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Growing liabilities, customer base, asset quality portfolio, and income by engaging DCB HNW clients and recruiting new NHW clients in line with the bank’s strategy.
• Maintaining high client retention rate by developing and implementing customised retention plans/initiatives.
• Designing and implementing a service delivery strategy to ensure DCB is competitively positioned in the HNW market.
• Build positive and lasting relationship with individual, family clients, foundations, and their advisors, managing the different dynamics and interests of the parties to build consensus and realise desired results.
• Developing and sustaining relationship as a trusted advisor with clients; while diplomatically managing the clients’ families, advisors, and foundations dynamics and varied interests.
