JOB SUMMARY
The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to the Medical Teams International staff and other officials and mission members, meeting MTI highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of maturity and responsibility, and excellent knowledge of protocol, and safety security issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide reliable and safe driving services, ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers
  • Keep abreast of traffic rules and regulations as well as road security and safety awareness to enable safe, on-time arrival for any movement including meetings and appointments
  • Maintain daily vehicle logs, inspections, daily kilometers, fuel consumption, oil change, servicing, greasing, repairs
  • Prepare and maintain data of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports, awareness of vehicles servicing, required items for services.
  • Ensure that the official vehicle is kept clean and is always in good working order.
  • Supports the preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports
  • Tracks insurance and applicable tax formalities
  • Make minor repairs and recommendations for major repairs
  • Change oil, check tires, spare tires, jacks, lights, horn, clutch and brakes and wash car regularly
  • Ensure that vehicles comply with MTI safety and security standards and reports any conditions of concerns to a Manager
  • Ensure that communications devices (e.g. cellular phone) is in proper working order before each trip
  • Ensure the vehicle has sufficient fuel at all times.
  • Follows safe vehicle loading and unloading procedures.
  • Keeps the vehicle clean and free of debris; follows other vehicle cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain and ensure availability of all required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and safety and security document, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle;
  • In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuates staff according to written and practiced procedures.
  • In the event of an accident, assures that medical emergency procedures are followed; completes a written accident report as required by delegate’s procedure and other authorities.
  • Assist office staff in filing, photocopying and maintaining required records.
  • Assist in the mailing and distribution of publications and payment of bills, as required.
  • Supports safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, and Child & Vulnerable Adult protection policies and sexual harassment policies.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Possession of valid Driver’s license, class C, for a minimum of 3 years
  • Attended Vocational Educational and Training Authority would be an added advantage
  • Certification of defensive driving from a recognized institution preferred
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is required
  • Certification in vehicle mechanics and maintenance is preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred: Experience working for NGO Clean driving record is required
  • Minimum heavy vehicle driving in Tanzania is required

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing Technical financial support and guidance at Dar es Salaam Office while coordinating with Human Resource, Logistics Team and Management to effectively implement the organization policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate and supervise the accounting operations of assigned office including recording transactions in Unit4 to while ensuring correct cost allocation and compliance with all MTI procedures.
  • Support in completion of monthly and yearly closing of accounts and balance sheet, in order to verify evolution of project finances; flag any issues of concern to the Finance Manager and Country Director for further strategic discussions
  • Support in preparation of financial reports for all donor projects in accordance with the donor reporting requirements 15 days before the due date and submit to Finance Manager for review.
  • Record, analyse and reconcile all payables and commitments in accordance with MTI and donor requirements and ensure timely amortization.
  • Review of payroll transactions, allocation and perform monthly reconciliation of prior month payroll data with current month and submit to the Finance Manager for review and approval.
  • Participate and provide technical financial guidance and support during budget proposal process to comply with the FOM and donor requirements.
  • Update the Bank transactions on a daily basis in the bank statement menu and perform bank reconciliation through Unit4 by 2nd of every Month.
  • Provide relevant financial information including documentation upon request for audit and donor desk review processes.
  • Accountable for the appropriate use of resources in accordance with budget holder authority and MTI’s cost principles
  • Participate in capacity development programme for Finance and Non-Finance staff to improve on performance and operating efficiency.
  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.
  • Work directly with the Payroll officer to complete timely preparation of payroll and updating of the Partner Personnel lists and perform reconciliation of personnel cost allocation to different projects.
  • Ensuring compliance of PSEA policy and provide updated data PSEA database on quarterly basis as well as reporting any related PSEA issues/incidence to Country Director.
  • Coordinate with supplier in Dar es Salaam to follow-up on delivery of orders of goods/services made and obtain acknowledgment receipts for completed payments to suppliers.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Commerce is preferred
  • Associate Certified Public Accountant (ACPA) is required
  • Full active member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) is compulsory
EXPERIENCE
  • At least 3 years of work experience in finance management is required
  • Preferably, an accountant with either logistics/procurement, or HR experience
  • Experience working with International NGOs is required

  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and relevant donor requirements

Responsible for developing and implementing communication and external engagement strategies. Work closely with field project teams to capture, document, report & communicate program impact with both internal and external stakeholders. Work alongside the Senior Managers to represent Medical Teams with all levels of partner as needed. Collaborate with HQ Marketing department on the development and proper branding of visibility materials.

  • Develop and implement communications strategies, campaigns, and other initiatives to promote the visibility of the organization
  • Visit field locations to gather data and impact stories to use in communication materials; share updates with HQ office as requested
  • Create visibility materials (donor branding, signposts, brochures, newsletters, media releases, fact sheets, etc.) according to Medical Teams and donor branding guidelines
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation point for communication materials including publications, press releases and clippings, photographs, audio-visual materials, web resources about Medical Teams, its partners, and stakeholders
  • Responsible for monitoring the budget lines related to communications and external engagement in all projects.
  • Advise Senior Management Team on communications matters and provide editorial support for staff
  • Coordinate and respond to media requests in accordance with Medical Teams policy
  • In charge of hosting media and other official visitors during field visits.
  • Manage conflict as it arises and advise management and HQ staff on crisis communications
  • Maintain records of media coverage, analyze trends and foster relationships with reporters
