World Vision’s Emergency Response Roster is comprised of highly experienced and vetted humanitarian aid professionals available for short term, medium term, and long term emergency response assignments with World Vision. This roster allows World Vision to more rapidly identify and hire for key positions in its humanitarian response offices.
If selected, eligible applicants will first be fully vetted and then approved for the Emergency Response Roster. As vacancies arise in our humanitarian offices, roster members will be considered for employment opportunities.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements for all Emergency Response Roster Positions:
  • 5+ years of cross cultural humanitarian emergency experience outside of your home country.
  • Minimum 2 years experience serving successfully in fragile or unstable environments.
  • Experience directly managing staff during humanitarian emergency responses.
  • Ability to work long hours in stressful environments with a variety of skilled professionals.
  • Demonstrated management of budgets in emergency response settings.
  • Willing to serve unaccompanied; most likely in a team house setting.
  • English proficiency; written and verbal.
  • Grant Acquisition Management experience in your personalized expertise.
  • Strong track record in developing good working relationships with governmental institutions and multilateral agencies.

Position: Driver -SUSTAIN Project
Deadline: 11th November, 2019
Purpose of the position:
To facilitate Transport and ensure efficient and safe use of the vehicles
Observe mission and core values of World Vision and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others

Major Responsibilities:
  • To keep vehicle clean and in good condition for use and take care of tool kit
  • Ensure that vehicle is in good working condition (fuel, oil, water, tires etc) and general state of the car has been checked before use
  • Ensure that every vehicle movement is formally authorized and log book entries are correctly recorded and approved by the trip leader
  • Ensure that vehicles undergo quality service as planned
  • To ensure all visitors read and sign the child protection forms during the pickup.
  • To ensure that the vehicle carries authorized passengers/luggage as per its capacity and it is driven at allowable speed
  • Report any mechanical problem of a vehicle to supervisor for repair/parts replacement approval
  • Timely Preparation and submission of monthly reports concerning fuel consumption and maintenance costs for each vehicle
  • Keep smart and in uniform while on duty
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification required: Form Four with a valid class C driving license
Experience: 3 years in driving with class C
Preferred: Form Four with NIT Advanced Driving Certificate
Technical Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate in English and good command of Kiswahili
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff
Basic vehicle mechanics skills
Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Mbeya
Travel: 20% Domestic travel is required.
On call: 10%
