The Pre-service Education Technical Advisor will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Pre-Service Education in the 11 regions of USAID Afya yangu and Zanzibar. He/she will provide technical leadership and oversight for pre-service education activities for the USAID Afya Yangu-

RMNCAH project aiming to improve the knowledge and skills of PSE students in RMNCAH. Under the leadership of the Technical Director, Technical Advisor pre-service education will work closely with MOH national, regional, Health Training Intuitions (HTI) and Zonal Health Resource Centres to design and implement effective pre-service education improvement strategies. In consultation with Project Leadership and Jhpiego’s technical experts, the Technical Advisor for pre-service education will provide strategic and programmatic leadership to facilitate the implementation of evidence-based, competency-based education.

Technical Officer, Pre-Service Education at Jhpiego
The Pre-Service Education Technical Officer will provide technical support on pre-service education activities for USAID Afya Yangu – RMNCAH supported HTIs aiming to improve the knowledge and skills of PSE students in RMNCAH. S/he will work closely under the guidance of Pre-Service Education Technical Advisors to support the implementation of effective pre-service education improvement strategies through evidence-based, competency-based education and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for health cadres in reproductive, maternal, newborn and child and Adolescence health (RMNCAH.

Senior Technical Officer, Maternal and Newborn Health at Jhpiego
The Senior Technical Officer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation on the Maternal and Newborn Health thematic area in all districts within the region. S/he will work closely with R/CHMTs to set regional and district priorities. She/he will also work with Cluster Team Lead and Technical Advisors to tailor assistance based on regional and district needs. The person selected for this position will actively participate in regional RMNCAH policy and strategy discussions including planning and progress reviews with other stakeholders, as appropriate.
He/she will play an important role at the regional and district level, demonstrating, and providing technical assistance to strengthen and scale up MNH services, such as ANC, EmONC, essential newborn care, postnatal care and MPDSR. S/he will ensure that Jhpiego’ s programs implement national guidelines and standards in the provision of quality MNH services. She/he will support the regional team in the development of regional quarterly and annual reports on the MNH thematic area.

S/he will work closely with R/CHMTs under the guidance of the Technical Advisors for Child Health & Nutrition and Immunization to set regional and district priorities. She/he will also work with cluster and regional leads and Technical Advisors (Child Health, Nutrition and Immunization) to tailor assistance based on regional and district needs. The person selected for this position will actively participate in regional RMNCAH policy and strategy discussions including planning and progress reviews with other stakeholders, as appropriate. The Sr TO CH& Nutrition will also play an important role at the regional and district level, providing technical assistance to strengthen and scale up child health services including IMCI, ETAT, Immunization (REC & PIRI), and Nutrition services such as Growth monitoring, MYICAN, IMAM services. S/he will ensure that Jhpiego’s programs implement national guidelines and standards in the provision of quality Child health, immunization & nutrition services. She/he will support the regional team in the development of regional quarterly and annual reports on child health, immunization and nutrition.
