INTRODUCTION

The Institute of Social Work(ISW) is a Public Higher Learning Institution accredited by the National Council for Technical Education and Vocational Education (NACTVET) and established by the National Social Welfare Training Institute Act. No. 26 of 1973 (as amended by the Miscellaneous Act. no. 3 of 2002).

Kijitonyama Campus (1 post) – one-year contract

  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Architecture and must be registered as graduate Architecture with the Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB).
  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • To collect and analyse client’s requirements on buildings projects;
  • To advise and analyze the need and scope of works for various technical services;
  • To organize and arrange site visits and carry out initial appraisals;
  • To collaborate with other project technical teams to analyze and prepare outline proposals for building projects;
  • To prepare programmes and present proposals for the project team meetings;
  • To provide complete and detailed information and arrange for tendering for the projects as advised by the Architect;
  • To prepare reports, work schedules, and correspondences of the projects and seek for the approval of the Senior Architect.
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time
  • Salary Scale: PGSS 7

  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Computer literacy in design programs will be an added advantage. The applicant must be registered as graduate engineer with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • To help senior Structural/Civil Engineer to collect data for carrying out Feasibility studies;
  • To prepare conceptual design proposals and briefs of various projects;
  • To develop design proposals into workable drawings as instructed by senior Structural/ Civil Engineer;
  • To prepare complete detailed construction Structural/ Civil Engineering design drawings for all building projects;
  • To apply current legislations (policies, Acts, regulations, codes, Manuals etc.) related to Structural/ Civil Engineering in building project design work;
  • To prepare preliminary bills of quantities and costs estimates for all Structural/ Civil Engineering projects for checking;
  • To prepare draft project work programs/ schedules and budgets;
  • To carry out physical site data collection in technical audits tasks / assignments related to building projects;
  • To participate, with the guidance of senior Structural/ Civil Engineer, in carrying out condition surveys for existing structures and prepare reports;
  • To search and collect building projects design data and submit to senior Structural/Civil Engineer before they are used in the design work;
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
  • Salary Scale: PGSS 7
