Activity

Grant’s compliance (awarded portfolio) 40%

  • Provide technical support to grants on donor & partnership compliance efforts (assess, set policies & controls, measure, monitor and enforce).

  • Ensure grants compliance regulations are included in start-up workshops for all grants for building staff capacity
  • Act as a focal point for WVT on all donor compliance requirements, ensuring that staff and partners are correctly informed of donor requirements and are fully capacitated  to ensure compliance

  • Make regular visits to grants and conduct cite verifications to verify grant compliance to both WVT and implementing partners.

  • Lead partner identification processes including initial partner assessment and due diligence processes for all potential partners

  • Monitoring partner compliance with WV and donor rules and guidance throughout the lifecycle of our work with the partner, including: Communicating any issues to partners, and assisting them in resolving issues of noncompliance; Reviewing partner interim and final reports for donor compliance criteria, prior to submission.
  • Review and conduct desk verification on all non-financial documents/ forms received by the partners.
  • Promote inter-partners learning on common good practices and exchange of vital information

Compliance (in Grant Making) 20%

  • Provide guidance on donor requirements to proposal development teams

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

JOB PURPOSE

Provide overall WASH Technical Sector technical leadership for the national office. Leads NO Technical Sector technical approach development, ensuring alignment with regional and global Technical Sector strategies, to include advocacy and M&E and integration with other sectors and functional areas.   • Participating and supporting WV non-sector activities and other duties assigned by the supervisor
  • The department coordination and management effectively supported through assigned and delegated roles

KNOWLEDGE /QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of progressive leadership in WASH programmes across various contexts and countries and implementation of donor funded programs
  • Partnering
  • Demonstrated track record in proposal development, funding acquisitions and grant management for major government donors preferred

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • Masters’ degree in Public Health, Social Science, Water Resource Management, or equivalent experience

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Training or certification in integrated water resources management, behaviour change, market-based solutions, and other WASH areas (documented experience alternately accepted)
  • Knowledge on proposal development and engagement skills
  • Training and documented experience in developing and nurturing partnerships
