Position: Senior Human Resource & Administration Officer

Reports to: Managing Director

Location:  Dar es Salaam

Contract Duration: 1 Year contract

Good Neighbors Tanzania – Head Office is looking for a suitable candidate for the mentioned post, who will be responsible to carry out HR business in the organization in order to ensure that, the welfare of staff and the organization are met so that the organization performs all of its operations efficiently. This role also includes administrative tasks including Managing organization registrations, receiving and forwarding communications, and taking care of more general duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Assistant Manager to supervise human resource activities for effective performance
  • Managing staff recruitment and conduct employee orientation, development, and training
  • Check each departments’ annual plan and prepare annual recruitment plan including sharing appropriate schedule and procedures required with all departments
  • Processing and managing work, residence permits and camp permits for expatriates including renewals and annual returns.
  • Manage performance management process by ensuring;
  • Staff annual goals and job description are in place
  • Staff performance tools are in place
  • Mid and final appraisal is conducted to all offices within time
  • Review appraisal reports and give feedback accordingly
  • Appraisal documents are properly filled and kept in employees files
  • Manage HR activities through HR system and ensure system is effectively used
  • Develop and implement staff training, programs and development activities
  • Review, develop and execute of HR policies
  • Prepare employees contracts and develop terms and conditions
  • Manage health and safety issues in workplace
  • Managing disciplinary issues, addressing employees concerns and announcing changes or information from management to staff
  • Manage and monitor HR budget including salary, statutory and other expenses
  • Provides support to employees in the interpretation of HR policies and guidelines
  • Any other related work as may be assigned.

Administrative Functions

  • Organize filing system and record keeping for important and confidential organization documents i.e. contracts, MOUs, reports etc.
  • Maintain organization calendar, schedule meetings and events
  • Preparing administration expense reports and related budgets.
  • Managing organization compliance including registration, report submission to relevant institutions, annual fees, license etc.
  • Drafts administration forms and other related documents.

Qualification, experiences and competencies

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management, Administration or related field.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in human resource and administration. Experience with NGO is an added advantage
  • Experience with HR Management Software (e.g. payroll systems)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An excellent written and oral command of English and Swahili
  • Leadership skills, problem solving skills, creativity in decision making

  • Ability to multi-task, handle pressure well, flexibility, adaptability to transitions

Position: Operation Manager

Reports to: General Manager, Country Director

Location:  Dar es Salaam

Contract Duration: 1-year contract

As the in charge of Operation Department of GNTZ OM will support the GNTZ country program implementation through provision of authoritative and enabling advisory services on procurement, finance, human resources for project implementation and enabling optimization of program delivery in HO and other area offices as required. Under the overall authority and guidance of the Country Director, and supervision of the General Manager, OM will be responsible to manage, plan and execute organization projects through designed programs and monitoring the project progress. The position is also responsible for monitoring, organizing, and directing the completion of all project under Operation while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all Operations Team acts as an efficient and client-oriented for program and project implementation activities.
  • Supervise all ongoing projects carried out by the organization including Sponsorship, Education, Advocacy, Health, WASH, livelihood and Income Generation.
  • Oversee research for establishment of new Community Development Projects.
  • Coordinate and establish partnership with government and non-government organizations in the community.
  • Reviewing and approving reports and activity plans in all assigned Community Development Projects.
  • Organizing meeting with community in all assigned Community Development Projects.
  • Overseeing and organizing monitoring and evaluation of all assigned projects.
  • Plan, execute and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Liaison with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent changes where necessary.

  • Oversees efficient provision of client-oriented transactional services for human resources, procurement, finance and administration to the organization.
  • Oversees CDPs, ensuring efficient operations for GNTZ Head Office ensuring cost recovery.
  • Any other related duty as may be assigned.

Qualification, experiences and competencies

  • Bachelor Degree in Community Development, Project Management or related field.
  • Ten (10) years’ work experience in community project management and related fields.
  • Five (5) years’ work experience in managerial level
  • Project proposal and report writing skills
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication (English and Swahili)
  • Exceptional time, task, and resource management skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking
  • Proper computers skills especially MS Office

Position: IT Technical Support Officer

Reports to: AD Manager

Location:  Dar es Salaam

Contract Duration: 1 Year contract

Good Neighbors Tanzania – Head Office is looking for a suitable candidate for the mentioned post, who will be responsible to monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks, installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems in order to ensure that, the organization performs all of its operations efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Communicate with staff in HO and other Office to help set up systems or resolve issues.
  • Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.
  • Administer network and data security, including directory, group policy, firewalls, virus protection, email security etc.
  • Perform data backups to ensure all company-owned work is saved.
  • Set up equipment, accounts, password and profiles for new users and employees.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Replace parts as may be required and conduct safety checks on computer equipment.
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
  • Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
  • Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time including work on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
  • Rapidly establish a good working relationship with others including vendors, professionals, software developers etc.
  • Test and evaluate new technology and provide recommendation to the organization.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
