Duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Ensure that education department has up to date, accurate data and analyse such data appropriately to the needs of the department Promote and share ideas for improvement
  • Implement delegated education project portfolio according to plan of action (according strategy, proposals, budgets, plans and donor requirements)
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Coordinate with relevant partners within the Education sector and represent NRC at camp relevant meetings.

  • Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities
  • Support the implementation of NRC’s Education programme policy through working with programme management.
  • Takes lead in conducting rehabilitation/construction assessments and continuous gap identification and analysis.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Education or higher diploma with experience of working in construction/shelter sector.
  • Proven practical experience in the planning and execution of education, rehabilitation / construction projects for at least 3 years mostly in humanitarian assistance.
  • Ability to initiate, develop, plan and implement an integrated programme.
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain and present technical information.
  • Participate actively in supervisory and appraisal process
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disadvantaged populations (minority groups, PSN etc)
  • Demonstrated experience of integrating gender and diversity issues into Education Programming.
Personal qualities
  • Degree in Education or higher diploma with experience of working in construction/shelter sector.
  • Proven practical experience in the planning and execution of education, rehabilitation / construction projects for at least 3 years mostly in humanitarian assistance.
  • Ability to initiate, develop, plan and implement an integrated programme.
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain and present technical information.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  • Contribute to technical implementation of the teacher training program through daily supervision, coordination with partners and provide support to schools and incentive staff in line with NRC quality standards

  • Support the Education officer in formulation of project work plans and provide quality and timely reports to the officer on projects progress.
  • Strengthen coordination with government technical departments, camp management authorities and partners
  • Support the preparation PRs and follows up for timely procurement of materials, tools and services.

Qualifications
  • Degree/Higher National Diploma in field related to Civil engineering, architecture
  • Proven practical experience in the planning and execution of construction/rehabilitation projects for at least 3 years. Possibly experience in humanitarian assistance.
  • Ability to initiate, develop, plan and implement an integrated programme.
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain and present technical information.
  • Political and cultural awareness
  • Ability to work independently in a result oriented multi-tasking and multi-cultural environment and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Understanding of humanitarian standards and principles

Education Programme Development Manager


The purpose of the Education Programme Development Manager is to be responsible to design, develop and implement Education projects in Tanzania.
This position is open to both Citizens of Tanzania and International applicants.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Develop Education strategy, technical SOPs / guidelines and Macro LFAs
  • Responsible of development and manage funding proposal, project budgets and donor reports
  • Overall management of Education project staff
  • Coordinate and manage Education project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements
  • Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
  • Liaison and collaborate with relevant local and national authorities and stakeholders and represent
  • NRC in relevant forums/cluster/working groups
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
  • Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, CC tools, handbooks and guidelines
Specific responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead on the different Education consortium and partnerships with (Norcap, Babawatoto, Right to Play)
  • Develop and maintain strong coordination at national and area level with key education actors (Save the Children, IRC, Plan International Unicef, UNHCR) to develop joint programming
  • Lead on the Accelerated Education Program AEP Curriculum revision
  • Develop a Youth Strategy for NRC Tanzania

Qualifications
