Job Title: NURSE COUNSELORS (80 position)
Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating professional and peer counseling services and organizing community outreach and sensitization activities. 
Reports to Direct: Nurse Officer
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and perform the delivery of the counseling services, including individual and group counselling related to HIV, SGBV, nutrition and more areas, and establish follow up plans to ensure clients are fully supported
  • Participate in ART Clinic activities including providing counselling before and after clients take HIV test and referring clients to begin ARV treatment

Job Title: COMMUNITY HEALTH SUPERVISORS (4) POSITIONS
Reports to RCH Officer
Job Summary
The Community Health Supervisor will supervise the day-to-day implementation of community-based activities of Health Information Teams (HITs) under the leadership of Reproductive Child Health Officer (RCH Officer). The supervisors will support RCH Officer in the liaison of all community activities, and community to health facilities referrals. He/she will provide technical assistance in planning and implementation of HIT trainings in close consultation with RCH Officer. He/she will support and guide project implementation in accordance with policies of the Ministry of Health and MTI and provide feedback to line manager on a monthly basis or as required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide supportive supervision, coaching, and mentoring of all HITs and ensure that they develop weekly/monthly work plans under the leadership of RCHO
  • Serve as technical assistant or support to referral facilities when necessary.
  • Know and understand the project community health indicators as well as monitor those indicators.
  • If relevant, ensure that community supplies for HITs are timely procured and distributed to avoid potential stock-out.
  • Take advantage and participate in related community level meetings during implementation under the guidance of RCHO

Job Summary
Responsible for providing a comprehensive nursing package that includes preventive, curative and public health education services. Ensure quality of care in line with Medical Officers and Clinical Officers prescriptions, medical protocols and universal hygiene standards.
  • Provide nursing services including observation, diagnosis and treatment in consultation with the Clinical Officer
  • Maintain personal contact with patients, take note of their complaints, carry out corrective measure and escalate for further action if necessary and participate in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary
  • Ensure patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their feeding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort. For ER and OPD nurse, ensuring triage of patients in waiting areas, wards or during emergencies, detecting the priority acute/emergency cases, carrying out first aid care and referring them to the doctor when necessary
  • Orient new staffs in the department
  • Organize departmental meetings at least once a month
  • Represent the department during monthly departmental meetings
  • Take part in departmental materials management including requisition and ensuring appropriate consumption to maintain departmental inventory levels
  • Ensure patients are comfortable and in a healthy and secure environment to enhance quick recovery
  • Assist with ward rounds to complete paperwork required for admission and discharging of patients
  • Dispense medication according to prescription, ensuring correct labelling and directions; Ensure patient understands how to take medicine by providing clear instructions
  • Participate in PHC activities including health education, MCH activities and nutrition programs
  • Carry out family planning, PMTCT and HCT services both at the health facility and within the community
  • Monitor the consumption of drugs and equipment required for nursing activities and notify supervisor of re-stocking needs
  • Ensure biomedical equipment is in good working order by using in accordance with user manual and
  • protocols, perform cleaning and minor maintenance and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning
  • Ensure hygiene and sterilization criteria, including universal precautions, are met
  •  Ensure data collected is accurate and submit reports according to schedule
  • Ensure that medical practices are conducted with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to professional and MTI Code of Conduct
  • Ensure the Safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS
Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing is required
Registration with Nurses and Midwives Council is required
Valid practicing license is required
EXPERIENCE
2 years of nursing experience is required
Experience working with international NGOs is an added advantage

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Program Manager, senior management and field teams to determine operational needs of the medical program and medical staff training needs
  • Monitor and evaluate health sector service delivery objectives, indicators and outcomes of regional programs; Make program adjustments as needed to align with donor and MTI requirements
  • Utilize Unit 4 ERP system to analyse supply need and oversee timely procurement of equipment and adequate drug supply in accordance with consumption needs, national drug protocol and program budget
  • Assist in implementing HR functions related to staff management (hiring, training, promotion, disciplinary action, termination) and ensure training and capacity building of health facility staff
  • Represent MTI at health coordination meetings, task force meetings and other partner coordination meetings and communicate relevant information back to staff
  • Maintain relationships as first point of contact with public health department donors and partners
  • Act as last line clinical consultation and make recommendations for referrals for specialized care
  • Lead production of site and donor reports including compiling and analyzing data, compiling narrative and analysis
  • Work with management and partner agencies for outbreak preparedness and contingency planning
  • Provide input to proposal and budgeting processes
  • Ensure direct reports have clear objectives, receive mentor ship and participate in capacity building opportunities
  • Conduct performance evaluations and enforce disciplinary procedures as per MTI policy

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine (MD) is required
  • Postgraduate training in Public Health is an added advantage

  • 4 years of experience in hospital practice relating to primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and communicable diseases; inclusive of 2 years at a managerial level is required
