Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is an agency under the Ministry of Works responsible for developing and maintaining the trunk and regional road networks in Tanzania Mainland. It also oversees axle load control operations and airport construction.Contract Overview
TANROADS, on behalf of the Government of Tanzania, has entered
into a contract for the construction of Isyeto Box Culvert (5x3m) with 2
cells and Lufilyo Bridge (40m span) & Relief Box Culvert (5x3m)
with 1 cell and road approaches (2.0km) along Bulongwa-Madihani-Kidope
and Madihani-Lufilyo Roads.

Chief Executive TANROADS, invites applications for the following
positions on a short-term contract for supervision of the works.
Successful applicants must be ready to work in Njombe District for

Terms and Conditions of Service
- Contract Period: Twelve (12) months starting January 2025, renewable based on performance.
- Salary: TANROADS salary scale with site allowances as per TANROADS Incentive Policy.
Entry Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Science and Management, Environmental Planning and Management, or equivalent.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental research on road maintenance and development.
- Update environmental management procedures for the roads sector.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for road projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Competence
- Computer literate.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Entry Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Welfare, Psychology, Sociology, or Guidance and Counseling, or equivalent.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate local community participation in road maintenance and development.
- Conduct social impact assessments (SA) of projects.
- Prepare resettlement plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Competence
- Computer literate.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Entry Qualifications
- Tanzanian citizen with a Diploma in Land Surveying or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing sketches, maps, and reports.
- Review survey data for accuracy, including measurements and calculations.
- Record survey results, including land shape, contour, location, and elevation.
- Assist in determining specifications for aerial photography equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Competence
- Computer literate.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Entry Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Land Surveying, or Cartography with 3 years of experience.
- Certificate in CAD.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare drawings and sketches related to road and bridge design.
- Liaise with Highway Engineers for design improvements.
Competence
- Computer literate.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Entry Qualifications
- Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
- Typing/shorthand speed of at least 60/80 w.p.m.
- Secretarial NTA Level 6.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Type memos, letters, reports, and minutes.
- Manage the Project Manager’s appointments.
- Receive and connect clients to relevant officers.
- Keep records and attend to phone calls.
- Perform other secretarial duties as required.
Competence
- Computer literate.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
