The Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) – www.twcc-tz.org stands as a pivotal organization, uniting various women and youth entrepreneurs across Tanzania. Established in December 2005, TWCC serves as an apex and umbrella entity, encompassing sectoral Business Women Associations, Companies, Cooperatives, Groups, and Sole proprietors. Currently boasting a membership exceeding 12,000, TWCC’s reach extends to over 1 million women from all sectors of the economy, spanning 27 Regional Chapters in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar, along with 14 Women Sectoral Associations, and 11 Platforms catering to women in Cross Border Trade.
TWCC’s primary objective lies in fostering unity among women and youth entrepreneurs, including those in the informal sector, to promote business formalization and growth. Through robust capacity-building initiatives and mentorship programs, TWCC endeavors to alleviate poverty among women by equipping them with the necessary skills and resources for success. Moreover, TWCC collaborates closely with both private and public sector entities to advocate for favorable policies conducive to the flourishing of women-owned enterprises.
Job Summary
The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to TWCC Head Office officials while ensuring the highest standards of discretion and integrity, a sense of responsibility, and excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. The Driver is expected to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact, and ability to work with people of different cultural backgrounds.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Logistics Support
- Drive TWCC staff and officials to meetings, field trips, and other destinations on official business.
- Collect and deliver mail, packages, and equipment; maintain records of all deliveries and distributions.
- Perform pick-up duties from various points as directed by the supervisor.
- Work with respective departments to follow up on various compliance issues.
- Assist in receiving, packing, labeling, and distributing parcels to different destinations as advised.
- Perform purchase duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform minor repairs, arrange for regular maintenance, and ensure the vehicle is clean and in good running condition at all times.
- Ensure the safety and custody of the vehicle, including tools.
- Ensure availability of all required documents/supplies, including vehicle insurance, registration, logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
- Ensure that, in the event of an accident involving the office vehicle, the necessary steps required by rules and regulations are followed.
Administrative Support
- Prepare administrative reports.
- Maintain records for vehicles, logs official trips, records daily mileage, records the use of fuel vouchers, and keeps records on consumption.
- Keep track of insurance and other documentation.
- Assist office staff in filing, photocopying, and maintaining stores when required.
- Assist in the mailing and distribution of letters and publications.
- Collect and distribute mails as directed by the Human Resources and Administrative Officer.
- Follow up on utility invoices and deliver cheques on the specified period of time.
- Ensure proper use of vehicle maintenance plans and assistance in preparing vehicle history reports.
- Ensure vehicle is clean and in working order.
- Inspect vehicle prior to daily use; check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, fire extinguisher, reflectors, service schedule, etc.
- Report vehicle concerns timely.
- Follow all safety and vehicle safety requirements.
- Comply with all organization safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Comply with National Road Regulations.
- Provide logistical support during events and workshops.
- Perform other office duties as assigned and authorized.
- Perform other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Driving Certificate from a Reputable Driving College.
- Certificate of Advanced Driving Course from NIT or VETA.
- Clean Class C Driving License.
- Experience in driving Executive Officials will be an added advantage.
- Clean Driving History and Promising Driving record.
- At least three years of work experience as a driver, with Government, Private Sector, or International Organizations.
- Long Distance driving experience.
- Good oral communication ability in both Swahili and English.
- Flexibility and ability to work with different people.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competences Required
- Knowledge of Tanzania Driving Regulations.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Good communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Professional appearance.
- Ability to perform minor vehicle repairs.
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read maps efficiently.
