The University of Dar es Salaam Computing Centre (UCC) is currently seeking its next Managing Director to guide the Company to greater heights of success.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute the company’s overall strategic vision and business plans. This involves identifying new market opportunities, fostering innovation, fostering collaboration, and leveraging emerging technologies to propel business growth.
  2. Establish and lead a high-performing team of professionals, setting clear goals and expectations. The team must demonstrate the capability to achieve operational excellence and strategic objectives in an accountable manner, with a functional succession plan in place.
  3. Supervise all facets of the business, encompassing sales, marketing, operations, finance, and human resources. Across all areas, adherence to best practices is crucial, involving meticulous monitoring of key performance indicators and financial metrics to gauge UCC’s performance.
  4. Spearhead business development initiatives to secure new business prospects and enhance existing ones. This encompasses cultivating strategic relationships with valuable stakeholders such as clients, partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  5. Manage relationships with key stakeholders by acting as the primary liaison with the board of directors, shareholders, and other participants in industry-related events. This includes effectively communicating UCC’s business objectives and interests.
  6. Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Qualifications
  7. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business-related and Technology-related fields such as Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, Law, and Information Technology. Possession of a higher degree (Master’s or PhD) would be advantageous.
  8. Demonstrated enthusiasm for the technology business sector.
  9. Proven leadership experience of at least 10 years.
  10. Demonstrated success in expanding and revitalizing businesses.
  11. Profound understanding of global and Tanzanian ICT technologies and trends.
  12. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for motivating teams.
  13. Strong analytical problem-solving skills to address issues that could impact the business.
