1.0 Background:

Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU) is a secular, private and non-profit making institution of higher learning owned and managed by the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC). The University offers holistic education based on profound principles of teaching and research, which is echoed through community service as a commitment of the University to the development of Tanzania. MWECAU

The University has three Faculties namely the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Humanities and Business Studies. MWECAU offers various academic programmes from Certificate, Diploma, Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees. The University is located in Moshi about 10 kilometres north of Moshi Town, on the lower slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.

2.0 Faculty of Humanities and Business Studies

2.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Procurement and Supply Chain Management) – 1 Post

2.1.1 Duties and responsibilities  

  • To Conduct lecturers, tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes;
  • To carrying out field supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
  • To mentor junior staff in all relevant matters;
  • To participate in curriculum development;
  • To participate in developing and managing various university projects;
  • To undertake research and publish research results;
  • To carry out community/outreach services including promoting linkages with industry;
  • To undertake consultancy services;
  • To prepare teaching manuals and compendia;
  • To supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects;
  • To attend/organise workshops, conferences and symposia; and
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

2.1.2 Qualification and experience 

Holder of a PhD in Procurement and Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Master’s in Procurement and

Logistics/Supply Chain Management with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management with a Minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 5 or a related relevant field from any recognized institution of higher learning. Posses a certificate from recognized Professional bodies. Work experience in institution of higher learning will be an added advantage.

2.2 Assistant Lecturer (Procurement and Supply Chain Management) – 1 Post

2.2.1 Duties and responsibilities

2.3 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Sociology) – 1 Post

2.3.1 Duties and responsibilities  

  • To Conduct lecturers, tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes;
