New Opportunities at TCCIA

Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) is a private sector association which was established in 1988 with the support of the Tanzanian Government to strengthen the private sector. The establishment of the TCCIA was an important step as the Government was moving from centralized, planned economy towards a more open, mixed economy giving full scope to private owned enterprises and farms.

Recommended:

TCCIA operates Regional Chambers in 26 regions of Tanzania Mainland and over 120 District Chambers in the country, which are semi-autonomous in their operational activities. TCCIA works closely with different international organizations for several of its activities to strengthen private sector in the country and also works closely with the Government of Tanzania for the same objective. Assistance by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency-SIDA played a vital role in establishment of the regional and district chambers especially in providing training, office equipment and mobilization/sensitization of the business community. TCCIA is the sole country member of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Tanzania, a member of East Africa Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (EACCIA), Pan African Chamber of commerce and Industry (PACCI) and East African Business Council (EABC).
