Job Tittle: Workshop Supervisor

Description

  • Ensure the workshop is always safe and clean
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safe work procedures and (HSE) adherence.
  • Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment, and other materials in the service area.
  • Distributing work orders to the maintenance teams or workshops as per work assignments.
  • Schedule work assignments to determine priorities, review trucks and workshop facilities to determine proper utilization of resources and efficiency of production.

  • Supervise, Plan, administer, control, and coordinate the repairs and maintenance of trucks in the central workshop.
  • Controls all tasks force under the workshop
  • Follow-up of the workshop efficiency and productivity.
  • Make request of spare parts required for maintenance and ensure that parts are well organized and maintained.
  • Perform Scheduled Maintenance Service.
  • Review work orders in liaison with Head of workshop.
  • Updates and fills in work orders for additional work performance.
  • Make final checks and approve the work carried out by the repair teams.
  • Make sure that all repairs are correctly made and changed parts are recorded on the work order sheet and ensure all details are entered on the work order, including time spent on the job and names of individual workshop staff.
  • Represents workshop on technical committees, both internal and external in relation to truck maintenance.
  • Direct the investigation of the causes and costs of accidents within central workshop involving trucks or equipment.
  • Formulate SOPs and ensure all technicians adhere
  • Ensure all technicians are aware of procedures for using new products and equipment.
  • Dedicated to learning, growing, and succeeding in organization.
  • Conduct quarterly/mid/annual performance appraisal for workshop personnel.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance to team members.
  • Ensure warranties are properly followed up, monitored, and documented.
  • Assist in the modification and design of equipment; recommend the rehabilitation or disposal of aged and beyond economic repair, seriously damaged and badly malfunctioning equipment.
  • Perform any other related activities as may assigned by the Head of workshop or/and Head of Transport.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10yrs of work experience in Sino truck or other related in heavy trucks as a workshop supervisor
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment’s with accuracy and speed

Job Tittle: Environmental Officer

Description

  • Manage environmental regulatory compliance of operations both in the Plant and the Mines.
  • Co-ordinate environmental management activities associated with operations carried out by the company in line with company Policy and Environmental Management Standards as well as Industry and International standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure that environmental management initiatives, programs, procedures, trainings, work practices and controls are implemented and monitored for effectiveness and continual improvement.
  • Liaise with external agencies regarding environmental compliance requirements.
  • To assist the HSE Manager in identifying and assessing risks and possible environmental hazards of all aspects of plant operations and provide input into identification and mitigation of risk.
  • To create Environmental plans that includes suggested improvements to existing infrastructure and business processes.
  • Participate in incident investigation and preparation of formal reports on findings including recommendations to Head HSE.
  • To execute approved environmental corrective action to prevent future incidents.
  • To collect, analyze and maintain accurate environmental records.
  • To conduct periodic plant inspections in order to assist HSE Manager in Environment compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environment or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in Environment.
  • 5 or above years of experience in Environmental functions.
  • Certification/license from NEMC or other recognized HSE body (e.g., Certified Environmental expert will be an added advantage).
  • Good knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of cement manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
  • Fluent in both English and Swahili Language.

Job Description

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of Fleet Managers and their teams.
  • Ensure compliance with trucks’ operations and maintenance schedule; and that customers are satisfied with the level of services provided.

  • Coordinate the execution of DCLT’s fleet operational strategy/plan in line with agreed guidelines.
  • Manage/monitor efforts of all Fleet Managers to achieve synergies and ensure achievement of the operations targets.
  • Oversee liaison with maintenance unit to ensure trucks are always in good working condition.
  • Supervise proper fleet management schedule to improve the availability and utilization of the fleet, reduce downtime and troubleshoots deviations from routes.
  • Ensure Fleet Managers adhere to DCLT’s regulations and freight transportation laws.
  • Proactively identify potential operational issues and opportunities in the fleet operations department.
  • Oversee, in conjunction with the recovery units, the return to operational condition any impounded, or accidented, or damaged trucks in line with agreed timelines.
  • Plan, develop and execute a truck replacement schedule.
  • Keep abreast of recent developments in the logistics and transportation landscape (laws and regulations).
  • Identify/coordinate training needs for fleet operations employees.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
