Job Purpose
To evaluate counter-party credit risks associated with Wholesale Banking lending at the client interface, with the primary objective to contain credit risk within acceptable parameters.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provision of direct credit evaluation services at the customer interface and apprise client application timely
  • Identify credit and risk management requirements at the source of the deal negotiation/ business proposal.
  • Conduct credit evaluation interviews during deal negotiation
  • Support other teams in department to develop high quality credit solutions to customers; Recommend appropriate facilities in line with risk evaluation
  • Present and defend own judgement and senior credit evaluations to clients
  • Present and defend credit proposals to CREDCO& BCC.
  • Identify, quantify and evaluate sources of risk in relation to profitability of business proposal and financial viability of the corporation as a whole
  • Utilize industry risk analysis available to identify and understand contextual threats to existing and potential clients.
  • Proactively and timely processing credit applications for existing facilities
  • Detect and evaluate shifts or changes in key parameters in a business relationship or industry
  • Monitor utilization in excess or arrears of credit facilities and assists Relationship Managers in managing the risk exposure.
  • Build relationships with other Senior Analysts and Relationship Managers to improve quality of business proposals and turnaround time on credit evaluations.
  • Responsible for reviewing financial information produced by customers.
  • Monitor and Control quality of loan portfolio.
  • Plan and Implement annual credit reviews for the loan portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Banking and/or Financial Services, 5 years being in credit analysis or credit evaluation.

Job Purpose
Driving strategy and execution of operations of the bank’s technology infrastructure and ensuring operational availability, performance, scalability, recoverability, security and continuous improvement of these infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring an enterprise-wide technology infrastructure vision, strategy, and program necessary for ensuring technology infrastructure high availability, scalability, recoverability, flexibility, etc.
  • Develop short-term, medium term and long-term technology infrastructure strategies for the bank. Oversee further development and implementation of a technology infrastructure roadmap, including key prioritization and sequencing of key systems to support the bank’s strategic goals.
  • In the capacity of a trusted advisor to the bank on technology aspects, participate in the formulation of the bank's enterprise architecture and business system plans; assessing cost and feasibility, and ensuring the plan is aligned with and supports the strategic goals of the business.
  • Leadership in ensuring that the infrastructure for branch power systems (i.e. UPS, Inverters, and Generators), datacenters MEP and facilities, compute, storage, networks, servers, databases and middleware are operating optimally 24/7.
  • Ensure the infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring and managing infrastructure related risks.
  • Responsible for managing overall Technology Infrastructure day to day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance and end user satisfaction.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.
  • Manage strategic relationships with key Technology product and service providers.
  • Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides infrastructure services vision, enables innovation and seeks to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the bank’s requirements and expectations.
  • Development of enterprise wide policies, processes and standards as well as the Technology Infrastructure operations governance and control processes.
  • Conduct product and vendor evaluations ensuring best in class technologies and partners for successful business operations.
  • Development and overseeing SMART metrics for the infrastructures to ensure effective capacity and performance is in place to meet or exceed business needs.
  • Development of an annual OPEX & CAPEX budget and ensure it is managed and tracked appropriately.
  • Manage demand and capacity for infrastructure resources.

Attributes

Job Purpose
To ensure the bank’s designated programs are delivered within specified timelines, budget, scope and acceptance criteria.

Main Responsibilities
  • Organize and facilitate kick off workshops with the objective of determining programs and respective projects’ objectives, scope, approach, organization, controls and governance framework.
  • Develop programs and respective project plans with a comprehensive list of all envisaged activities, milestones, deliverables and their corresponding ownership.
  • Facilitate definition and approval of business requirements
  • Facilitate development and approval of the business case and business realization plans
  • Estimate resources, budget and participants required to achieve the program goals and motivate for their allocation
  • Divide the programs and their respective projects into logical work streams and assign ownership to relevant departments.
  • Establish relevant governance and communication structures for all designated programs and respective projects
  • Serve diligently as chairperson of the program working committee and secretary of the program steering committee
  • Manage program risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions
  • Monitor progress against the program plan and institute corrective measures
  • Manage changes to program scope, budget, timelines and acceptance criteria in line with the agreed process
  • Facilitate development of the testing strategy and plan
  • Facilitate development of test cases and scenarios
  • Assemble and facilitate training of the testing team
  • Supervise test managers and business analysts throughout the acceptance testing stage
  • Organize for availability of relevant testing resources e.g. testing environment, facilities etc.
  • Oversee the execution of system integration, user acceptance testing and secure sign offs for successful testing results
  • Facilitate program and respective projects closure workshop
  • Develop and agree with relevant stakeholders on appropriate program benefits management framework and subsequently oversee a smooth handover of the framework to the designated benefits manager
  • Ensure an effective maintenance and support model is established and handed over to those responsible for its operation
  • Produce the program closure report and secure its approval from relevant executives

Credit Analyst, Retail
Job Purpose
Timely and quality assessment of proposals for credit facilities (new and/or existing) based on sound credit & financial principles with the view of providing expert opinion to the approving authorities for them make informed decisions /judgement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivery of a professional service to the business units, by assessing and evaluating credit facilities including staff loans (new and/or existing) based on sound credit & credit policy, financial principles, in view of minimizing risk to the bank.
  • Observe SLA and without jeopardizing the quality of credit proposals.
  • Provide direct (specialist/ professional) credit assessment to whether the credit proposal meets criteria and counterparty credit risk falls within acceptable parameters, and independently recommend appropriate credit proposal including terms or conditions where necessary to ring fence exposure.
  • Evaluate information obtained to gain a thorough understanding of business parameters, which create profit/value as well as the associated risks.
  • Utilize industry and market information available to identify and understand contextual threats to existing and potential clients.
  • Build a smooth working relationship with business counterparty to improve quality of business proposals and turnaround time.
  • Share joint credit responsibility for business recommended.
  • Take and/or recommend remedial /appropriate actions for deteriorating exposure identified during the review process.
  • Appropriately structure a deal in line with the purpose and cash inflows.
  • Adhere to agreed Turnaround Time without compromising the quality of the credit proposal / decision.
  • Provide independent credit opinion.
  • Manage credit policy reviews and related manuals and update where necessary.
  • Detect and evaluate shifts or changes in key risk parameters in a business relationship or industry and evaluates the implications of such changes on continued business dealings.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong interpersonal skills in a Business or Credit environment

  • Business understanding of various sectors i.e. Government/ Parastatals, manufacturing, wholesale, Agribusiness and Retail.

  • Excellent understanding of credit and associated risks.
  • Knowledge of Bank Credit Products
  • Excellent understanding and in-depth knowledge about the key sectors of the Tanzanian economy.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Economics /Finance/Business or its equivalent.
  • At least 5 years Proven experience in a Credit role gained within the Bank or other banks.
