Job Title: Network Engineer

EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in a supervisor IT position, preferable in the Hotel sector. Strongly considered will be abilities and working experience with Networking companies both wired and Wi-Fi exposure
  • Desired experience in MS-Office and Hotel applications, such as Opera & Micros
  • Experience in working as a team member in IT systems
  • Proven experience with a wide variety of Hotel Applications
  • Experience of interacting with guests and managing their expectations is paramount
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting on Remediation IT projects
  • Experience in managing data network and telecommunications systems
  • Understanding and experience of IT infrastructure technologies, inclusive of security solutions, personal computing, help desk, servers, and printers 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Troubleshoot & resolve technical problems or issues related to computer software & systems
  • Troubleshoot, modify, support, manage, maintain applications programs and user accounts
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
  • Excellent knowledge of IT general controls, data, cybersecurity, hardware/software systems
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and manage tasks and priorities
  • Be self-motivated and proactive going beyond the call of duty
  • Fluent in English with exceptional communication skills both in written and verbal form
  • Experience in maintaining Inventory of all hardware, software’s and licenses
  • Keeps track of all maintenance contracts and takes care of daily check list
  • Maintains and administer IT policies and procedures

Experience
A minimum of 6 years working of experience in revenue management within luxury hospitality
Experience in managing reservation and e-commerce departments is desirable
Proven experience in OPERA Property Management System and Microsoft systems
Extensive experience in yield management, numbers and revenue optimization
Experience in managing revenue systems (RateTiger, SynXis, TravelClick, EzRMS, IDeaS)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to drives market share and revenue performance; develop overall pricing strategy to include all market segments and distribution channels
  • Ability to ensure that all OTA, content, reputation and distribution channels are optimised
  • Possess excellent skills in maximising revenues across room, banqueting and F&B areas
  • Strong analytical skills to analyse statistics, demand, historical performance, booking trends
  • Ability to determine opportunities to improve revenue across all channels
  • Excellent knowledge in identifying new business, markets and trends while minimise risk
  • Ability to produce accurate weekly and monthly forecasts
  • Ability to challenge and influence hotel to follow best practise
  • Enthusiastic problem solver with exceptional critical and strategic thinking skills
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to provide strategic direction to a team
  • Capable to maintain a close cooperation with sales, events and F&B departments
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent, correct data across multiple systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of the changing legal landscape

Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Develop, build, and manage a client base of corporate, and individual accounts.
  • Oversee the sales process on each stage – from quoting to delivery to follow up
  • Target new and existing accounts in Tanzania
  • Prospect new clients via cold sales calls, direct email, and networking events.
  • Follow up on generated leads, through research and promotional events.
  • Investigate and troubleshot customer service issues.
Requirements
  • Degree in Business Related or Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering
  • Working experience 2 – 3 years
  • Experience and familiarity in the lubricant market in Tanzania will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy – MS Office
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili. Other languages will be an added advantage.
  • Prepared to travel when required.
  • Interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Presentation / training skills/problem solving skill / product knowledge essential
  • Ability to manage clients to ensure long term contractual arrangements
  • Result oriented and analytical
