Sales Manager, Broking

Job Purpose and Key responsibilities
 The role holder will be responsible for managing and growing relationships between Britam and its current and future brokers to ensure sustained support and growth of broking business portfolio.  The role will report to the Country Sales Manager.

  1. Drive the achievement of the broker sales revenue budget
  2. Grow and defend Britam’s broker market share position
  3. Direct, guide, manage and offer support to the brokers
  4. Monitor broker preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
  5. Manage quality of Brokers business, productivity and overall sales performance
  6. Formulate and implement strategies that ensure brokers are well versed Britam products
  7. Participate in  formulating and implementing any marketing activities and promotions
  8. Visit brokers and ensuring their needs are met as well as receiving comments and suggestions on improvement on the products
  9. Drive the achievement of the annual, quarterly and monthly production budgets and recruitment targets
  10. Deliver on performance requirements as defined in sales department strategy map, balanced scorecard and personal scorecard.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
  1. Bachelor degree (marketing & insurance options preferred)
  2. Professional qualification in Insurance (Dip CII or equivalent qualification)
  3. Seven years’ experience in sales three of which must be in a supervisory level (insurance sector preferred)
  4. A demonstrated track record in managing relationships with brokers to ensure sustained business support.

 Corporate Sales Executive

Job description

The job holder will be responsible for growth of revenues for brokers at the head office to meet set annual premium targets. The role will report to the Sales Manager-Broking.
  • Secure new business through brokers.
  • Maintain excellent customer service to brokers.
  • Service existing business through brokers and follow up to ensure renewals.
  • Ensure payment of premiums before policy attaches.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports as required.
  • Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk.
  • Follow and adhere to underwriting guidelines and standards as communicated by Underwriting Manager from time to time
  • Follow up to ensure brokers are paid commissions timely and accurately
  • Guide and assist brokers on claims processing for their clients.
  • Respond to brokers and client enquiries.
  • Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the strategy map and personal scorecard.

  • Professional qualification in Insurance (Certificate CII)
  • 2-4 year’s relevant experience in the insurance industry
