Position:                                         Fleet Management System Technician

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The purpose of the Role is to achieve an effective and reliable performance of Fleet Management System’s hardware and Software by maximizing network coverage, functionality of Fatigue management tools embedded within FMS for all Mining Operation in real-time production and Safety activities. The integrity of the database and operating systems is critical in driving real-time production and safety gains. A healthy Fleet Management System creates real-time opportunities to avert production loss, wrong recording of haul cycle time components resulting in a high data integrity

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Diploma/Degree in Electronics/Tele communication/ ICT.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 2 years working in Open Pit Mining Environment
  • Basic computer skills, CISCO knowledge and Microsoft packages.
  • Strong communication skills (English and Swahili).
  • Self-motivated and be able to work under pressure.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Conduct Daily Inspections on hardware kits installed in Production equipment so that pro-active maintenance can either be conducted or scheduled.
  • Perform an audit on System functionalities i.e., software configurations on Field computers and Access-points.
  • Conduct reinstallation as per Original Equipment Manufacturer Standards (OEM) whenever required.
  • Resolve defects with minimum Troubleshooting time to mitigate impairment of data integrity.
  • Perform scheduled audit on the quality of wireless Network coverage on pit Operation areas in order to mitigate or eliminate timeouts.
  • Manage tools inventory.
  • Conducting proper housekeeping in the workplace to reduce hazards and operational costs.
  • Complete a spare parts inventory and generate a monthly report to the Fleet Management System Superintendent to create a purchase schedule for delivery time and inventory levels.

  • Well versed in Cisco, hubs, switches, and PC serves.

Position:                                                        Coordinator 1 – Environment

The purpose of the role is to coordinate all environmental related tasks within the Heavy Mining Equipment and Light Mobile Equipment workshops to ensure compliance to environmental requirements/aspects as per GGM standards

  • A minimum Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).
  • Trade Certificate Level Three, Diploma or FTC in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Prepare inspection & communication schedules and inspection checklist within in collaboration with GGM environment team.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed safely according to GGM Safety Standards procedures.
  • Conduct both planned and unplanned environmental inspection within the HME areas of work.
  • Enforce compliance against legal requirements, GGM procedures (procedure for management of hazardous materials and waste management strategy) and AGA environmental standards.
  • Prepare action plans to address inspection/audit findings in HME and follow up for implementation of the recommended actions.
  • Work with GGM safety specialist to coordinate environmental related inspection prior to internal or external audit.
  • Monitor and maintain the 5s principles at our scrap yards and salvage yard.
  • Promptly report all environmental related incidents.
  • Provide Technical advice on the best option /practice for sound environmental management at HME areas.
  • Monitor waste segregation in the HME and LME areas  to keep them tidy.
  • Work closely with HSE Reps to ensure that HME and LME areas are compatible to ISO 14001(2015) and ISO 45001(2018)
  • Implement hydrocarbon spill prevention plan by ensuring cleanness of workshops, oil separators, ponds, trenches, and supervising scrap metal removal process
  •  Ensure hydrocarbon spill is prevented.
  • Insist pre-start of vehicles, signage’s, and demarcation of hydrocarbon materials.
  • Coordinate slashing of glasses in the area surrounding workshops.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to operate a variety of mobile equipment such as loaders, forklifts, Tele-handlers, boom truck etc.
  • Honest and open minded.
  • Must have good written and oral communications skills in English language
  • Must be able to work with the Team members and shows Leadership skills

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To do Mining Equipment Maintenance i.e., Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Breakdown work. Should do as much as possible to have much of planned task and minimize break down work which is very possible by doing proper and effective inspection during daily routine inspection as scheduled and recording defects for planning maintenance and ad hoc work purpose which will lead to have right schedule time for the tasks during planning meeting.

Maintain safety standard throughout before, during and after completion of the task execution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One in Auto – Electrical
  • VETA Grade One/Level Three and above in Auto Electrical
  • Diploma/ Full technician in  Electrical/ Automotive Engineering or above.
  • Degree or Advance Diploma in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least  2 – 5 years working experience working in Mining industry
  • Working experience with different models of Mining Caterpillar Machines O&K, RH40, RH170 Excavators and MT4400AC, Bell Trucks Normets
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting to all the machines above
  • Knowledge of hydraulic system and competent in Electrical circuits.
