DATA COLLECTORS JOB DESCRIPTION

Compassion International Tanzania is seeking qualified data collectors to administer surveys to children, youth, and adults. The expected data collection window and time commitment for this position is January through March.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors
  • Act as an advocate for children, raise awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct.
  • Participate in data collector trainings and fully understand the scope and survey tools to be used for this assignment.
  • Provide feedback to the Supervisors and Monitoring & Evaluation Specialists on the observations made during data collection
  • Conduct surveys with children, youth, and adults and focus group discussions, as needed
  • Carefully and safely keep all completed data tools in accordance to the data management protocol.
  • Submit all completed data forms and equipment to the Supervisors
  • Participate in day-to-day debriefing and other meetings as planned by the supervisors
  • Carry out any assignment as assigned by the Data Collection Coordinators and Monitoring & Evaluation Specialists from time to time. The data collector will be reachable to receive instructions or logistical information related to data collection process.

  • Constantly communicate with FCPs to ensure the data collection schedule is known in advance and respective preparations are made.
  • Monitor data collection process to ensure data collection protocols and procedures are being adhered to
  • Review data collected (in the software) and provide constructive feedback to data collectors on their performance, noting areas of strength and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that collected data by each data collectors are submitted/uploaded accordingly as per laid down guideline.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to the data collectors
  • Manage logistics and supplies for the data collection within his/her Base (area of operation)
  • Ensure a sufficient quantity and availability of necessary data collection equipment/items.
  • Ensure that all completed data tools are kept in accordance with the data management protocol.

JOB SUMMARY
This senior manager leads the accounting team to maintain Compassion's general ledger, work closely with internal clients across the organization to answer financial questions and provide advice on proper accounting, conduct accounting research and analysis, review and interpret historical transactional activity, and complete the month-end and year-end close process. What do you bring?
Master's degree in economics, econometrics, statistics, applied psychology, international economics, international development or other related field with major components that include research methods, at least two semesters of econometrics or advanced statistics, and impact evaluations.

Three years’ recent hands-on research &/or quantitative analysis experience, including at least one year applied experience in conducting rigorous quasi-experimental or experimental methods and/or in cross-cultural settings that include child and/or community development, public health, or similar.

Demonstrated experience in establishing strong cross-functional and multi-cultural relationships and constantly advocate for high-quality findings & modeling in international field countries.

Proficiency in Advanced Statistical Analysis, including Propensity Score Matching, Multi-level Regression, Modelling, predictive forecasting, factor analysis (SEM & EFA); advanced experience of one or more statistical software packages (STATA preferred).

Excellent and creative communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
Proficiency in at least one of the languages spoken in Compassion countries preferred.
