The Higher Education Student Loan Board (HESLB) has announced a list of 5168 first-year first-year students who have been allocated loans worth TZS 19.9 billion.


A press release issued by HESLB CEO Abdul-Razaq Badru states that to date (Tuesday, November 17, 2020), a total of 52,473 first-year students have been allocated a loan of TZS 170.02 billion.

Basru said on November 11, this year HESLB announced a list of First Phase loans for 47,305 first year students who were allocated loans worth TZS 150.03 billion.

"All they have to do now is visit their SIPA accounts they used to apply for a loan and they will get detailed information about the loan." said Abdul-Razaq Badru today (Tuesday, November 17, 2020) in Dar es Salaam.

Regarding applicant students whose applications were in short supply, Badru said HESLB has given five (05) days from tomorrow (Wednesday, November 18, 2020) to process their information and send it online.

"We have a few students whose applications have shortcomings that from tomorrow they will be able to log into their SIPA accounts they used to apply for a loan and adjust it by keeping the right documents and we will analyze them and qualified will be allocated loans as soon as possible," said Badru.

In 2020/2021, the Government has allocated TZS 464 Billion to finance 145,000 higher education student loans including 54,000 first year students and 91,000 undergraduate students.
