The East African Kiswahili Commission (EAKC) is an Institution of the East African Community (EAC) mandated to coordinate and promote the development and use of Kiswahili for regional integration and sustainable development.
In order to effectively fulfill this mandate and meet its objectives and planned activities, the Commission seeks applications from qualified persons for the following positions below:

Position: EXECUTIVE SECRETARY – D1 (REF: EAKC/HR/2020/01)
Minimum Requirements of the Job
Academic Qualifications

  1. A Masters’ Degree in a relevant field of Kiswahili from a recognized University.
  2. A PhD in Kiswahili Studies is an added advantage.
Work Experience
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years relevant experience eight (8) of which should be at senior management and/or administrative level;
  • Evidence of ability to mobilize and manage resources;
  • Developed and successfully implemented Kiswahili projects and programs;
  • Demonstrated experience in the promotion of Kiswahili projects and programs;
  • Experience in Kiswahili research as evidenced by wide publication profile;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading institutions/programs and; projects involved in promoting Kiswahili.

Position: DEPUTY EXECUTIVE SECRETARY – P5 (REF: EAKC/HR/2020/02)
Minimum Requirements of the Job
Academic Qualifications
  1. A Masters’ Degree in a relevant field of Kiswahili from a recognized University.
  2. A PhD in Kiswahili Studies is an added advantage.
Work Experience
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years relevant experience eight (8) of which should be at senior management and/or administrative level;

East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO) is an established Institution of the East African Community (EAC) whose member States are Republic of Rwanda, Republic of Kenya, Republic of Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Burundi and Republic of South Sudan with its Headquarters in Kigali-Rwanda.
The core function of EASTECO is to promote and coordinate the development, management and application of Science and Technology to support regional integration and socio-economic development.
This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and result-driven professionals who are citizens of East African Community Partner States.
