KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
WFP is implementing Nutrition and Climate Smart Agriculture programs in Dodoma and Singida regions under its Country Strategic Plan which ends in June 2021. Operating under close supervision of Programme Associate, the Monitoring Assistant will have the following responsibilities:
  • Monitor implementation of agriculture activities ensuring timely delivery (including observation of partner performance); prepare process monitoring reports and status of action items; escalate issues and participate in resolving issues.
  • Monitor other program activities as need to meet minimum monitoring requirements, improve linkages with other activities, or provide a new perspective
  • Work closely with NGOs, CSOs, village and ward leaders, religious and community leaders to get required support for project implementation.
  • Monitor the progress of agreed actions on gender integration in all projects and provide feedback to project partners including farmers
  • Monitor implementation and performance of demo plots to ensure practical adoption of new knowledge by farmers.
  • Support the supervisor in compiling inputs for semi-monthly reports.
  • Compile and analyze information from the farmers database in collaboration with CO M&E unit
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor 
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications

Education: The minimum education requirement for the position is a Certificate in one or more of the following disciplines: Community Development, Public Health, Nutritional sciences, Agriculture or any other related field.

 Experience:
• Collection of programme output and outcome data.
• General knowledge of monitoring systems and standards.
• Use of data or statistical software such as Excel or SPSS with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Kiswahili.

  • Liaise with promoters and Community Health Workers at health facility for joint monitoring of activities in the villages to ensure linkages on nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive.
  • Monitor the progress of agreed actions on gender integration in all projects and provide feedback to project partners including farmers
  • Track creation of assets and how beneficiaries are benefiting from them
  • Conduct interviews at community level gather qualitative information about beneficiary’s response to WFP support and implementation progress.
  • Support the supervisor in compiling inputs for semi-monthly reports
  • Compile and analyze information from farmers database in collaboratiob with CO M&E unit
  • Follow Work closely with CSOs, village and ward leaders, religious and community leaders to get required support for project implementation

responsibilities:
  • Oversee implementation of nutrition and agriculture activities and analyse program activities to ensure desired results are being achieved efficiently
  • Integrate community approachies,gender and capacity building into all activities and ensure that there are strong linkages between program activities
  • Participate in weekly meetings with programme staff to review progress,identify challenges,coordinate and update implementation plans
  • Prepaire monthly process monitoring plans,track progress of monitoring visits,analyse the Process Monitoring Dashboard,escalate significant issues,agree on actions and ensure actions are implemented
  • Supervise Monitoring Assistants and develop their capacity
  • Ensure strong cooperation and coordination with local government authorities and cooperation partners
  • Participate in district and regional forums,consultative and steering commitee meetings to ensure WFP’s objectives,program design and activities are well understood,have visibility and are intergrated into local development plans.

  • Provide inputs to the sub-office report,donor reports and assesments.Gather succes stories to document project performance and raise visibility of activities.
