PDF File | HESLB Batch One Loan Beneficiaries and Incomplete Students Required To Correct Necessary information

The Higher Education Student Loan Board (HESLB) has announced the first phase list consisting of 30,675 First Year students for the 2019/2020 academic year who have successfully secured loans worth TZS 113.5 billion were list available at www.heslb.go.tz

In the current academic year, the Government has allocated TZS 450 billion aimed at benefiting a total of 128,285 students.  Of these, more than 45,000 students are first-year students and another 83,285 are undergraduate creditors.  In 2018/2019, the allocated funds grew to TZS 427.5 billion and benefited a total of 123,283 students including 41,285 first year students.

Speaking to reporters today (Thursday, October 17, 2019) and HESLB CEO  Abdul-Razaq Badru, said in the list, men are 19,632 (64%) and women are 11,043 (36%).

Badru explains that credit applicants have to open their personal accounts (SIPA - Student's Individual Permanent Account) which they have opened to apply for credit through the HESLB system (olas.heslb.go.tz) to obtain credit information.  CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PDF FILE

Special Groups - Orphans, Disabled etc.
 Regarding special needs groups, the CEO said in the first phase list of 30,675 students, of which 6,142 students are orphaned or lost one parent, 280 disabled and 277 others from TASAF-funded Community Development Fund (TASAF)  .

"In special groups we also have 1,890 students, equivalent to 6 percent of the 30,675 first-year students who went to private school but due to poor economic conditions, they were funded and confirmed by submitting correct documents," said Badru.

Regarding the second phase, Badru said to HESLB before October 25, 2019 of next week after the completion of the credit application analysis from students who have been delayed in completing the eligibility criteria or delaying their online loan application.
Call on students

Speaking at the conference, HESLB's Director of Credit Analysis and Planning  Veronica Nyahende has asked students whose information is incomplete, to complete so that deserving students can be loaned by visiting www.heslb.go.tz

"There are about 1,000 students whose applications are incomplete, use this time until the 19th to complete the qualification with the creditors," he said
